Hi, I’m Zaila! My name means “radiant and bright,” which is a perfect description of me. My foster mom says my grayish-hazel eyes are stunning – they match beautifully with my gorgeous brindle coat. And my ears? Well, they have a mind of their own. When I get excited, they flop up and over my head like they’re doing their own happy dance!
I was born on March 13th, and since both my parents weigh over 60 lbs, my foster mom thinks I’ll be a big, beautiful girl when I’m all grown up (I’m already about 40 lbs!). I’m strong, curious, fearless, and full of puppy spunk.
Potty training is going well, though I still make the occasional “oops.” I take care of business right away when I go outside. I’m also doing great with kennel training – give me a collagen chew and I’ll happily settle in. I’m learning my leash manners and love going for walks, but my favorite thing might just be splashing around in the water. I also enjoy my cuddle time — I’m becoming quite the snuggle expert. Since I’m finishing up losing my puppy teeth, I love to chew on toys – and sometimes things I think should be toys (like table legs or rugs). My foster mom keeps a close eye on me to make sure I stick to the real chewables.
I’ve met the other dogs in my foster home, but I’m still learning about boundaries – sometimes I forget they don’t appreciate a surprise high-five to the face. For that reason, I’d do best as the only dog, or with an older, calm, and patient male dog around my size. No cats for me, please. If there are kids in the home, they should be older and able to understand my puppy energy.
My perfect forever family will give me structure, training, and lots of love (and maybe a splash pad or lake days!). If you’re looking for a bold, curious, energetic, and very happy companion, I’m your gal — and I can’t wait to meet you!
