I'm ready for my new family!

Wednesday

I'm Available

Hi, I’m Wednesday! I’m one of the Addams Family puppies, and if you look into my soft brown eyes, you’ll probably see exactly what I’m hoping for – a family to love me forever. My siblings and I were abandoned in Texas, but now I’m busy discovering just how good life can be. As I grow, I’m getting taller every day and starting to look more and more like a Lab!

I’m a sweet, goofy girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. I’m kennel trained, potty trained, and thrive when I have a routine. I sleep in my kennel when my humans are away, but I’ll admit I prefer having a person or another dog nearby so I don’t feel alone. A tasty snack helps too!

Speaking of dogs, I would love a home with a canine sibling. Having another dog around helps build my confidence, gives me a playmate, and makes life a whole lot more fun. I currently live with three senior dogs, and while only one of them can keep up with me for very long, I adore having them around. I respect it when they tell me they’re done playing, although sometimes my foster parents have to remind me that not everyone has endless puppy energy like I do.

And trust me – I have plenty of puppy energy! I’m always ready to play. Toys, people, dogs, or even entertaining myself – I'm all in. I love fetch, although I think the best part is racing another dog to the ball, grabbing it first, and proudly showing off my prize before eventually giving it back. I’m still working on the "give it back" part of the game, but I’m trying!

When the weather gets warm, you’ll usually find me splashing around in a kiddie pool. I can entertain myself for ages, and the zoomies that come afterward are legendary. I love every kind of toy imaginable – soft toys, stuffed toys, crinkly toys, chew toys – you name it. I haven’t met a toy I didn’t like. I also enjoy digging in dirt, but don’t worry, the grass is way too comfy for me to bother digging there.

I’m a pretty funny girl, too! I sleep sprawled out on my back with all four paws in the air or stretched out as far as possible. No tiny donut naps for me! I also like to run around carrying my favorite toy while talking to everyone about how exciting my life is.

I already know how to sit like a champ, especially if treats are involved. I’m currently working on "down," "wait," "come," and "drop it." The problem with "drop it" is that I look so good carrying a ball around that I sometimes forget I’m supposed to let go.

When I meet new dogs, I’m enthusiastic, wiggly, and ready to make friends. I can be a little pushy because I get so excited, but my intentions are always good. I’ve met a cat before and thought she would make a great friend. Unfortunately, she didn’t share my enthusiasm. I also learned that cat litter boxes are apparently off-limits. Who knew?

New people can make me a little nervous at first. My tail might tuck, and I’ll spend a few minutes figuring you out. But if you’re kind to me, give me about five minutes and I’ll be showering you with kisses and asking for snuggles. Kids are okay too, but I’d do best with children who can help me learn that hands are for petting, not nibbling.

As for where I live, I’m pretty flexible. An apartment or a house would both work, as long as my family is ready for the occasional indoor zoomies and doesn’t mind hearing me chat about my day. Thunderstorms can be scary, and car rides sometimes make my tummy feel a little queasy, but I’m working on both and feel much braver when I have someone to snuggle with.

My foster mom says I’m one of those dogs who will be "the one that got away." She tells me I make her laugh every day, give the sweetest kisses, and somehow steal a little more of her heart with each passing day. She says even when my puppy energy keeps her on her toes, I’m absolutely worth it. Personally, I think that’s because I’m equal parts silly, snuggly, and lovable – and I can’t wait to share all of that with my forever family.

More than anything, I’m looking for a family who will love me, be patient while I continue learning, and tell me what a good girl I am. Nothing makes me wiggle harder than hearing that. Could this be you?
