I'm ready for my new family!

Troopa

I'm Available

Hi there! My name is Troopa, and I'm looking for a home where I can continue to grow into the best version of myself. With my gorgeous chocolate fur and adorable "angry eyebrows," I’m impossible to ignore – but that’s not the only thing that makes me special. I’m a Parvo survivor, and although I had a rough start in life, I’m not the type to dwell on the past. I’ve already shown that I’m a fighter, and now I’m ready to show you just how loving, playful, and full of life I can be!

I adore my comfy beds, playing with my favorite bully stick, and snuggling with my cat buddy (we’re inseparable, don’t tell anyone). Tug-of-war with my humans is one of my favorite activities, and I love chewing on toys and exploring the world around me. While I can be a little independent at times (sometimes you’ll find me laying down with a stuffed toy to play by myself), I also really enjoy the company of other dogs and would thrive with a confident dog sibling who can show me the ropes.

Because of my early experiences, I’ve had some challenges with food guarding – but trust me, I’m not letting that hold me back. My foster mom and I have been working hard on this, and now I’m on my way to mastering a healthy relationship with food. I do best eating in peace, either alone or in my kennel, and a slow feeder helps me eat at a good pace. If I’m given the structure and leadership I need, I will thrive and continue to grow into an amazing, well-behaved doggie.

I’m not complicated, just a pup with a few quirks! I need a family who is committed to continuing my training and socialization. I’m motivated by food and love learning new tricks, though I can get a little mischievous when there are tasty treats or snacks around (counter surfing, anyone?). I’m mostly potty trained – just remind me to poop on those cold days when I want to rush back inside. I’m kennel trained and sleep soundly at night, and I’m still working on my leash skills, but I’m excited to explore the world with you when the weather is nice!

I would do best in an active home with an experienced dog owner who has had dogs before. My foster mom says I’m one of the most confident puppies she’s met – which is awesome but also means I need a strong leader to help me navigate the world and learn boundaries. I get along with most dogs, especially those with calm and balanced energy, and I have lived with older, dog-savvy cats (though I may get a little too excited and chase them sometimes, oops!). I’d be a great fit for a home with older children who can understand my puppy excitement.

Some other fun facts about me:
Why are you the very best dog in the whole world?
I’m the best doggie in the world because I’m so happy and appreciative of my people that take care of me. I can’t wait to see you every day. I give the best tail wags!

What are some of your favorite toys?
I love bully sticks (foster mom gets the Cadet ones from Costco) and squeaky toys.

Play all day or cuddles and snoozes?
I’m 50/50 play and cuddles.

What makes your body wiggle and your tail wag harder than anything?
Seeing my favorite people makes my tail wag so fast!

If you’re looking for a dog with personality, confidence, and a heart full of potential, I might just be the one for you! With a little guidance, I’ll be your loyal, loving companion for life. So, are you ready to take on the adventure of a lifetime with me? Let’s make it happen!
