Hi, I’m Ruby! If my beautiful brown coat didn’t catch your attention my loving eyes sure will. I started my life as a young pup with Save-A-Bull, got adopted, but my family couldn’t take care of me anymore so I am once again looking for my forever home!

I love my crate. It is a safe place for me to hang out and sleep in at night. I’m also past that puppy age and am fully potty trained!

Now I gotta tell you, I have a lot to say about things in the world. I like to look out the window and bark at my friends out there (squirrels, walkers, or anything else that catches my eye). I would love for my forever family to keep working with me on being relaxed when friends move around outside.

I’m also working on my leash skills – I guess pulling to go see everything I’m interested in doesn’t work. My foster dad walks me in a “power loop” and I walk much nicer in my new setup! I do have some leash reactivity to other people and pups and need a forever home to keep working with me on this. I’m very receptive to guidance.

One interesting thing about me is I am more toy motivated than I am treat motivated. So a nice game of tug or fetch and I’m ready to listen! As far as play goes, it’s best that I don’t go to a house with cats or other small animals (including small dogs). I have a high prey drive, so I’m told it’s smart to avoid smaller animal friends. I also have lots of energy, so I need a family that will be sure to meet these needs. I love to get out and smell the world!

I love to chew on bones. I am a power chewer so nylabones or benebones are great options for me! My foster dad tells me I love to be by his side. In fact, I’m like his shadow! I love my family deeply (so much so I check those counters out to see if the snacks up there are safe)! I’m learning that my foster dad has safe snacks, so he’s teaching me that counter surfing isn’t necessary. He says I’m really good at listening when he tells me “no.”

Overall, I am an adolescent gal with lots of love to give to my forever family. I need a family that will continue working with me on good behaviors and set me up for success. I would love to enroll in obedience classes to keep working on good behaviors and exercising my brain. I’m a smart gal! Could that be you?
