Hi, my name is Riesling. I came up from Texas with my four siblings. We were all placed with different fosters in the area and are part of the Wine litter. My best characteristic is my striking full dark brindle coat with blonde stripes. I have a little patch of fur on my chin and chest as well. I think I’m a good catch because I am beautiful, I look like a baby seal (who isn’t a sucker for baby seals), I am super smart, playful, cuddly and have a great all around disposition!
When I got here from Texas, my tummy was sick. I am getting a little bit healthier day by day, but it has not hurt my energy level. I am not quite potty trained, but I am working on it – I’m about 50/50. After all, I am still a puppy. 🙂 I am in my kennel part of most days while my foster parents are at work. I am adapting well but it is not my favorite place to be. The tricks I have mastered are “sit”, “shake” and “come”. We are working on “stay” and I am getting pretty good at that as well. I learn fast and would benefit from some classes or instruction. Treats are always a good motivator for me. I LOVE to eat my food, and everyone else’s given the chance. I will literally do anything for a treat!
When I am not exploring, playing or eating, I love to snooze hard and cuddle with my foster parents. I enjoy bones to chew on, stuffed toys to shred (my personal fav) and ropes to tug on. I also got a bed from the rescue. It’s the first bed I ever had, and I love it so much. It’s soooo comfortable and it’s all mine!
In my foster home, I live with two parents and two teens who help with my care. I get along great with all of them! One of my favorite things to do is play with the resident cat. Sometimes she plays back and lets me chase her and sometimes she gets mad. She is a bit moody, unlike me who is always happy. My favorite activity is playing out in the yard with two older resident dogs. The older female dog is a bit cranky and thinks she’s my boss, but the one-year-old male is my favorite. He has taught me so much about playing and how us dogs do things, and he is teaching me how to make the most of playtime. He lives his life to the fullest and I am learning how to do this too! If the dogs let me cuddle, I would love it, but it isn't their jam.
The best family for me would be a loving and active family. Other pets would be great too but really, I just need someone who makes me an important member of their family, gives me exercise, plenty of playtime, good food and lots of love. I promise, if you are in the market for a good girl and feel like you could be the one to give me the life of my dreams, you are not going to want to pass me up. I am the full package!!!
