Hi, I’m Pixie, and I’m pretty sure my superpower is making people smile! I came to St. Paul Animal Control and when my foster mom scooped me up, I was VERY happy to be moving on to my next adventure. I celebrated with lots of wiggles and kisses, because that’s just the kind of girl I am. Speaking of adorable, just look at me! I have a beautiful, soft fawn-and-white coat, a striking white blaze down my face, big brown eyes, and the most expressive ears you’ve ever seen. My ears have a mind of their own and don’t always work in sync, which my foster family thinks is pretty hilarious. I can’t help it if my ears like to express themselves independently!
I’m a happy, outgoing, curious, affectionate pup with a wonderful, well-rounded personality. I’m friendly with people and dogs, smart, trusting, bouncy, and always ready for some fun. I have medium energy, so I’m up for playtime but also happy to settle in for some snuggles with my foster mom and dad.
I love running around the yard with my foster dog siblings, playing tug-of-war with toys, bones, or even sticks, squeaky toys, chewing on bones, and, of course, snuggling. I’m also a curious girl who loves going for walks so I can check out all the new sights and smells. I’m great on a leash and very easy to walk, too!
I have a few silly habits that make my humans laugh. When it’s mealtime, I do the cutest little jump-and-spin because apparently food is VERY exciting. I also like to hoard bully sticks. In fact, I can carry two at once, and I’m pretty proud of that accomplishment. A girl has to be prepared for snack time!
I’m treat- and attention-motivated, which makes learning fun. I already know “sit” and “come,” and I’m working on “off,” “stay,” and “down.” I’m kennel trained and do just fine being left alone in my kennel. I may whine a little if I’m briefly left alone in a room, but overall, I handle alone time very well.
I’m still working on my potty training and have an occasional accident, but I’m learning! I’ve also met a cat briefly outside and was curious without showing any aggression. I currently live with three dogs – a large one-year-old male with medium energy, a small 11-year-old male, and a large eight-year-old female who are both very calm. I enjoy having canine friends and do great with other dogs, although I’m definitely the playful, wiggly one who likes to get right in there and have fun!
I’ve met children under 10 and did well. I think I could be happy with either an experienced dog person or someone new to dog ownership who is ready to continue helping me learn. Because I have some puppy energy and occasionally like to use my voice, a single-family home may be a better fit for me than an apartment.
My foster family says what really makes me special is my gentle, loving nature. I’m the kind of pup who makes it easy to fall in love with her, and I genuinely enjoy being around my people and my dog friends.
If you’re looking for a happy little wiggle-butt with expressive ears, a playful spirit, a loving heart, and a talent for carrying two bully sticks at once, I think we should meet. ❤️
