Hi, my name is Phil. I am a cute and loveable boy with a lot of love to give to my forever family! I have the softest fur and I love to be cuddled. I really want to be a lap dog and my foster lets me lay on their lap sometimes. I will follow you around all day long! I like to go for car rides and am very good in the car. I am very well behaved in the house. I don't chew things or try to steal food off the counter.
I am potty trained, I can hold my potty for a really long time! I prefer to go potty on trees or bushes, so sometimes I wait all day to go on them. :) I am not a fan of my crate. My foster gives me a tasty Kong when they have dinner and I am good as long as I am not in the room alone. When you leave, I will bark and cry. I really don’t like to be left alone, so it might be nice to have a sibling who is calm and confident to keep me company. My foster is trying to teach me that I am still safe even when I am alone in the crate, and someday I might feel that way. I really want to sleep in the bed with my foster but I have accepted that I have to sleep on the dog bed next to it. I have mastered “sit” and I listen very well to commands like “leave it” – unless we are talking about squirrels. I really want to chase squirrels and bunnies a lot! I am still learning to walk nicely on a leash but I really want to smell everything and pee on all the trees. I am really smart so I would like to take some obedience classes so you will give me treats and tell me I am a good boy. I love to do things for treats and praise!
I was found with my doggie sister before coming to Save-A-Bull, so I have lived with another dog before, and did well meeting a calm, respectful boy dog and puppy. I need to work on building my confidence, so at the moment if another dog comes running at me I am not my best self. I don’t live with any cats, dogs or children. I met a boy the other day and he was very nice – I liked him. I would be okay with kids as long as they are well trained to not jump on me, pull my tail and stuff like that. I like people but sometimes if they are loud or wear funny clothes I am very suspicious and might bark at them.
Since being in my foster home I have gotten more comfortable and I still want to learn a lot. I get very excited with new people but I have learned to settle down quickly. I love to cuddle with my foster dad so I hope my forever family loves to cuddle. I am thriving with routine and learning more every day.
Here are some other fun facts about me:
Why are you the very best dog in the whole world?
Because I will always be by your side.
A fun fact about me:
I love veggies! I think cabbage is great, so I will scarf it down. I also like cucumbers and tomatoes.
What are some of your favorite toys?
I don’t know what to do with toys for the most part, but I do find squeaky stuffies amusing.
Play all day or cuddles and snoozes?
I LOVE to cuddle and snooze with humans.
What makes your body wiggle and your tail wag harder than anything?
When my foster takes out my leash and I know it is time for a walk.
What would your dream day consist of?
A long walk with lots of new smells and trees to “water” then cuddling on the couch with my people. Then dinner and a movie with more cuddles.
I would love to meet you!
