My name is Petey and I’m named after the famous dog in The Little Rascals. I’m about 12 weeks old and I just moved here from New Mexico.
I’m crate trained! I sleep in my crate overnight; many nights I make it eight hours before I wake up and have to go potty, but some nights I wake my human up to take me out to go potty in the middle of the night. I also sleep in my crate while my humans go to work! As long as I have had 2.5-3 hours to play and burn off energy I don’t mind going in the crate for a six hour nap while they are at work. I’m getting pretty good at the potty training too! I’ve had a couple accidents but that is mostly my human’s fault because they let me play too long.
My new foster home has a 2.5 year old German Shepard and we get along pretty well! At first I was a little intimidated by her because I was so much smaller (I’m 16 pounds) but then I figured out how to play and I’m not scared anymore. We love to run around the yard in the snow or wrestle inside the house. Overall I’m a medium level energy puppy – of course I love to play hard and I have plenty of bursts of energy, but I also know how to balance it out with some chill time and taking it easy.
I’m a little cautious and hesitant with new dogs, people, places and situations. I like a slower introduction and some time to warm up, but once I gain confidence with the new dog, people, places and situations I come out of my shell and have a good time.I only live with two humans and one young adult dog, so I don’t have much experience with human kids or cats. If I meet any and hang out with them I’ll update this and let you know what I think.
