Hi, I’m Onyx! I have cute little black feet and a mustache on one side of my face – my foster mom thinks I look like the monopoly man in a tuxedo! I have a kind, adorable face and thick hair on my back. I came from a local shelter, Save-A-Bull literally saved me at the last minute. I am a survivor of Parvo and I’m now in good health and ready to rule the world!
I would appreciate it if you’d let me get in the shower with you every day because I love the running water, plus you’ll hardly ever have to give me a bath that way. :) I’m super duper fast and prefer to sleep on my back with my legs up in the air, I’m guaranteed to make you laugh!
I sleep in my kennel at night and do my best if I can see you from my kennel. I’m still working on being quiet in there when my people are gone. I just really like to be with them! I am potty trained and can pick up a routine very quickly. I know how to “sit” and “come here,” and listen really well when my foster mom says “no” or “drop it”. I’m smart and can learn just about anything. I’d be a star student at obedience class if you want to take me, I really enjoy learning and mental stimulation. I am motivated by praise, love, and treats!
I lived with three children for about a month and did great with them – I really like them. One was a little baby, and the others were toddlers. We were best friends. I am wiggly and loving but I understand that I can’t get rough or be too “extra” with them! I have lived with a cat for about a month, and really liked playing with her. She was a dog-savvy cat, which helped. I have lived with lots of different dogs, both male and female. Right now, I am living with three medium sized pitbull doggos: a one-year-old and two seven-year-olds. I can play, wrestle, and run with them for HOURS. I also used to live with two really big dogs, and I can even get the ones who don’t like to play, to play with me! I’d really enjoy having a home that has another dog or is very active. I am submissive but playful and not intimidated. If the older dogs want me to go away, I leave them alone. But if they’re being sassy, I can be sassy, too!

Why are you the very best dog in the whole world?
I am a gem and will make my future house a very happy, joyful place. I have a great temperament and love meeting new people and animals. I pick up new things quickly and am very eager to please and cuddle!
Give me a description of your dream forever family.
I would love to have human and/or dog siblings to play with. I like to be outside half the time and hanging out with a bone on the couch the other half. I deserve an awesome, warm, happy home after all that I’ve been through in my short life. Someone who is ready to take me to obedience classes and help me be my best self would be so awesome!
What general knowledge TV or movie character are you most like and why?
Like I said earlier, my mom thinks I look like the monopoly man in a suit… but I’m definitely not that formal in real life. Mischievous, sure 😉
What are some of your favorite toys?
I love my stuffed duck toy and chew bones.
Play all day or cuddles and snoozes?
I play hard and I sleep harder. I have lots of energy to burn and love to run and play.
What makes your body wiggle and your tail wag harder than anything?
Seeing my people when they come home and let me out of my kennel. I just LOVE people! They are so nice.
What would your dream day consist of?
Morning playtime with other dogs, a nap, some more play time, another nap… and really just continue that cycle – I’m easy to please on a simple routine.
