Hi, my name is Nova. I am a petite red haired girl with little white mittens and a black nose. I am a little skinny, but I am getting healthier every day. When I am super excited I scrunch my nose at you because I’m trying to smile. I love to bark at my siblings when they don’t want to play with me to let them know I am ready to go. 🙂 I wiggle everywhere after seeing my foster family! I was found wandering around a park in Saint Paul and was at Saint Paul Animal Control for a bit. There was an angel from Save-A-Bull who came for me and understood right away that I was scared. I was very scared but she didn’t care, she bundled me up and sang me some songs to help me relax.
I am potty trained – I go to the door, sit there and wait. I am kennel trained but I will still get excited to see you when you get home. I love my beauty sleep so I sleep all night long! I have been working on “sit”, “down”, “retrieve” and “fetch”. I haven’t taken any training courses yet but I think I would love to take training and obedience courses. Treats are my biggest motivator – I LOVE treats!
My first temporary foster home had three other dogs – a 2-year-old pitbull, a 4-year-old pitbull and an 11-year-old pitbull. My best friend was a 5-year-old little girl and a 14-year-old boy with special needs – I love kids! I have not been around any other animals besides seeing birds and squirrels in the yard. I like to play with my foster siblings as long as they understand I am very shy at first. I am more the submissive type. I love to go for walks and play tug-of-war but the only person I love snuggling with right now is my foster mom.
At the moment, I am a cuddle all day type of gal but I do like to play. I am still a baby so I will get more playful once I am comfortable with you. I am like the cowardly lion at first and then like Donald Duck when I get to know you. My foster mom makes my body wiggle and tail wag harder than anything because I am forever thankful to get out of that shelter. My dream day consists of sitting on the couch watching TV with my mom, playing tug-of-war, with a snuggle afterwards.
I am still learning lots of things about life and need a family who is willing to patiently teach me. I have so much love to give! Could this be you?
