Hello, I’m Morticia. I’m a very sweet little lady with a face that can melt hearts instantly. I’m just over four months old and recently made the big trip from Texas with my littermates. It’s a big world out there, and I’ll admit – I can be a little cautious at first. But every day I get braver and more curious as I learn about all these new things. I might start off a bit shy, but once I feel safe and get to know you, my gentle, loving personality really starts to shine.
I’ve been working very hard on my puppy skills, and I’m doing amazing! I’m rock solid with potty training – no accidents here! I can hold it all night and even while my foster human is at work. I’m also doing great with kennel training. I sleep soundly in my kennel at night and while my foster human is away, as long as I’ve had enough playtime and attention beforehand.
Speaking of sleep – I am an excellent sleeper! Give me enough exercise and fun activities during the day, and I’ll happily snooze for 9+ hours at night – and I’ll even let you sleep in. You’re welcome!
I already know “sit” like a pro, and I’ve just started working on “down” and learning how to walk on a leash. I’m very food motivated, which means I’m eager to learn and pretty easy to teach (snacks = instant focus).
Right now, I live with two adult dogs. I mostly spend time with the 3-year-old male, and we’re still figuring each other out. I usually do well, but sometimes when I’m feeling unsure, I try to take charge a little – and he’s not always a fan of that. Because of that, I do best with supervision and clear structure while I keep learning good dog manners and confidence. Most of the time we enjoy doing our own thing (I love chew toys and sniffing!), but we also have fun running around the yard together now and then. I haven’t met any cats or kids yet, but because I’m a gentle and thoughtful girl, I think I could do well with respectful, patient kiddos who give me time to warm up.
As for my perfect home, I’m pretty flexible! I could do well with another dog or as your one-and-only. The most important thing for me is a family who has the time to help me keep learning, build my confidence, and give me a good balance of structure, exercise, and enrichment.
I do have a calm, snuggly side too. Once I’ve gotten my puppy energy out, I’m more than happy to curl up with you for a cozy cuddle session. Honestly, that might be my second favorite thing – right after snacks.
