I'm ready for my new family!

Minnie

I'm Available

Hi there! My name is Minnie, though my foster parents keep calling me “Minnie Moo Bear”, so maybe that’s my full name! I’m three years old and full of youthful energy. I’ve got beautiful spots from my cattle dog side, and a smile that could win awards. I hitched a ride with some lovely volunteers to get here from Fargo, and have been settling in nicely at my foster parent’s house. I’m a very go-with-the-flow kind of dog – if we’re just hanging out, I’m happy to nap and cuddle. But if we’re going outside, I’m raring to go! I’m still figuring out the “bring the ball back” part of fetch, but I’m really good at chasing the ball. 🙂

I am potty trained! I haven’t had any accidents since arriving at my foster home, and I’m pretty good at going potty right away when we go outside before playing. I love my kennel, and will hang out in my kennel if I want to nap, or if I need a little space. I sleep in it at night and never whine. I like having my space separate from my foster brothers.

I know the basics like “sit”, “lay down”, and “shake” (though I know it as “paw”). I’m working on “boop” where I touch my nose to an outstretched finger. I’m pretty good on walks although my prey drive for squirrels and rabbits means I pull if I see one, but I’m working on it! My foster mom wants to take me on her runs, and that sounds like a lot of fun, so I’ve got to really work hard on staying focused.

My foster brothers are two cats. The older one and I don’t pay much attention to each other, and that’s okay with me! The younger one and I sniff each other a lot, but when I try to herd him around, he doesn’t like that. Sometimes I get upset when they walk past my kennel at night. I think I would enjoy a home without cats, so I can have the space all to myself. I don’t have any recent experience with other dogs, but I’m so easy-going, I bet I would get along great with them, as long as they match my energy!

Sometimes I’m a little timid when I meet a new person, but once I get comfortable I’ll flop on my back so I can get belly rubs. If you stop petting me, I’ll stretch out my paws to tell you that I want more! I’m definitely a velcro dog, I just want to be included in whatever you’re doing. I would love to find a home that does a variety of things. Lazy days at home watching TV so I can be a couch potato, active days where we go running or hiking or even just a longer walk, maybe even adventure days where I get to see somewhere new. I’m working on my courage in new environments, but once I build that up, I’ll be the perfect adventure buddy!
