Hello there, my name is Midge. I may be small, but I have a big personality! My foster mom calls me “monster” due to my rumbling play growls when we play tug-of-war with my toys. I came to live with my foster family at a young age, and I enjoy spending every minute I can with people. Sometimes I even forget I am a dog and not a baby. 🙂 I love to cuddle, be held, rocked, and sung to – I am pretty much the baby of the family. My brother and sister joined me for a few weeks before they found their forever homes and it was so much fun being the three amigos! Unfortunately, due to a temporary illness I have been healing, learning, and growing to become the best pup for my forever family.
I have been doing great with my potty training but do not do well with change, so I did have a few accidents when my foster mom was out of town. I am kennel trained, sleep during the night and will wake someone up with my bathroom cries if I need to go potty before morning. If I need to go potty and my foster mom is busy, I will sit by the door and whine to get her attention. I am good for the most part in my kennel, but really prefer to be with my family as much as possible and will let others know how I feel. I know “sit” and “wait/stay”. I am learning “off” and am still getting the hang of laying down for treats. Food is my favorite thing, and I will be the best girl for delicious stinky training treats!
I live with my foster mom, an older foster brother who is my favorite human when he is not working, and an older resident dog sister. I absolutely love spending time with her and sitting as close as I can to my foster sister. I love her so much, though sometimes she thinks I can be a pest with all my puppy kisses. I love watching all the dogs pass by my yard and want to play with them. I get along with the dogs I have been allowed to meet, and have even encountered the neighbor’s cat and was upset she didn’t want to play with me – who wouldn't want to play? I love chasing balls and playing tug-o-war with friends.
My perfect family would be an active one with children or another dog, as I absolutely adore having someone to play and cuddle with. I need to keep busy, as I tend to explore and get into trouble if I am not stimulated. I would love to have more training as my foster mom says I am smart, motivated to please, and very determined. I do love to cuddle and watch TV in the evening with shoulder massages, so it would be lovely to have a family that is both active and knows how to chill before bedtime. Could this be you?
