Hey there! I'm Melvin, a chunky pup with a heart of gold and a tail that never stops wagging. I've not only captured the hearts of my foster parents, but also my foster aunt and uncle! So much so that sometimes they take me for a sleepover and I get to hang out with their three dogs and foster dog, Norman. Norman is my best friend and cuddle buddy! Despite my rough start in life, I've proven to be resilient and full of love – I am so happy to go anywhere and love making new friends.
Not to brag, but I’m doing really well with kennel training and I always sleep through the night. I've been making great strides in potty training, and I sit patiently waiting for treats. My foster parents will tell you how trainable and great I am!
I live with my foster parents, a resident female dog, and a few cats. When our resident dog tells me she does not want to play, I listen and respect her, waiting until it’s go time! One of my greatest joys in life is playing with other dogs. I'm a social butterfly who thrives in the company of my furry friends, making me the perfect companion for a household with another dog. The cats are not my biggest fans, but with reinforcement and training, I'm getting better every day. After all, I just want to play!
I do great chewing on only toys for the most part. I’m not perfect, I like to chew on an occasional shoe, but when my people tell me “no” I listen. I'm in need of a family that will provide me with the training and guidance I need to reach my full potential. With a little patience and lots of love, I'm sure to blossom into your loyal sidekick!
What I desire most is a family to call my own – a family that will shower me with love, cuddles, and smooches every day. I really hope there is another dog there too! While I do great in the kennel at night, I would rather be cuddled up with my foster parents in bed, and sometimes they let me! That’s my favorite, and would be preferred with my forever family. My foster mom says I have the best puppy noises and loves my little baby snores!
