Hello, I’m Laverne. My spirit glows from within, you won't be able to miss my gorgeous eyes – especially when we're out in the sun. My eyes are truly golden! I have very long legs and sometimes when I wrestle around with other foster puppies they get stuck on top of me or under me. We look pretty silly trying to walk around and get untangled! My sister and I are a couple of local gals. We were saved from a not-so-great situation in southern Minnesota. As soon as we were taken into our foster home, we were given all the comforts we could have hoped for.

I am proud to say I have mastered the whole potty training thing! My humans were so smart, they hung bells from their back door. And boy do I know how to use those bells! I can give them a little boop with my nose, paw at them, and sometimes I even bite and pull to really get them ringing. I like to race my human to the kennel and get inside before they even reach it! I know I get good things in there, so I don't mind it too much. I might complain a tiny bit before calming down, because I would really rather stay with my humans. At night, my foster home has a nice puppy area set up downstairs. The kennel is filled with fluffy blankets and a bone or two. I don't mind sleeping in there, but I know I would really rather stay with the people that I love. I can definitely "sit", I know the word "off", and I am working on "leave it". I know what it means when they tell me to "go lay down", but am still working on the commands "down" and "look at me". I'll get it though, I'm quick to learn and will do anything for treats. I haven't taken any classes yet, but know I would love to join one. Humans, puppies, extra attention, and treats. Sign me up! I'm a bit of a foodie, so I'll do anything for treats.

I have two human foster siblings. The boy is 14 and the girl is 12. I love them both so much, and they both are equally happy to snuggle with me and a cozy blanket. Recently my foster family went on vacation and I finally got to meet a cat in a new home. I loved that cat so much! We played and even shared a few kisses. I live with two Save-A-Bull alumni dogs, so they are showing me the ropes. Blanche is a beautiful girl and she is almost 7, she is a pitbull/boxer mix, and about 50 lbs. She likes me, but tends to keep to herself. Stanley is long and lean, just like me. Stanley is 3-years-old, and closer to 60 lbs. Possibly a Weimaraner/pitbull mix. He still acts like a puppy and wants to play with me. I am more submissive when it comes to play, especially with dogs bigger than me. I love all sorts of play with other doggies – running, chasing, wrestling, fetch, and tug-of-war. I choose all the above!

Some other interesting facts about me:
Why are you the very best dog?
I love dogs, cats, and people equally. It might take me a little bit to warm up to new humans, but I'm worth the wait. I have so much love to give and I heard I am an A+ cuddler!

What are some of your favorite toys?
I love them all! Bones, ropes, and stuffed animals. The squeakier the better!

What makes your body wiggle and your tail wag harder than anything?
My body wiggles the most when I see my humans or when I see my dinner being prepared.

Give me a description of your forever family.
One person, three, or five! The number of humans doesn't matter, just the amount of love. I would really love a fur sibling too. They can help show me the ropes and I can get another best friend out of the deal!

I would love to meet you!
