I'm ready for my new family!

Mac

I'm Available

Hi! My name is Mac (aka Big Mac, like the burger)! I’m 55 lbs. and my foster parents think I’m around 2-years-old, but since no one really knows, I will keep my exact age to myself. While we don’t know (and I clearly I can’t share much about my past), I’m happy to now be with Save-A-Bull on my way to finding my furever family. Like most people, my best feature is my face. I get lots of compliments on how big my head is and how stumpy my legs are. For some reason no matter what’s being said or what sound is being made, I think everyone is talking to me, by that I mean I tilt my head from left to right ensuring people know that I’m following along with the conversation. 🙂 Like most of my four-legged friends, I love belly rubs, destroying some of my dog toys that aren’t as tough as me, and going for walks.

Speaking of walks, my foster parents are working with me on my walking manners, as I tend to pull and wander around a bit. I can’t help it, I just get so excited while out on walks. I have a weird obsession with my collars. Call me crazy, but I get excited when my collar goes on and comes off – sometimes I try and take my collar to another room to play with it, but my foster mom is quick to remind me that my collar is an accessory not a toy.

I’m happy to report that I’ve had zero (yes, you read that right) zero potty accidents in the house, because of course I'm a good boy like that. My foster parents are quick to pick-up on my queues when I hangout by the door wanting to go outside to do my business. To keep piling on the good news, I’m also kennel trained! Now don’t get me wrong, I prefer to be with my people, but I will willingly go in my kennel when needed. I might whine a little, but that’s only because I miss my people, and I know they miss me too. At night, I sleep in my kennel in my foster parents bedroom. The only feedback they give me is that I snore from time to time which wakes my foster mom, but she’s mostly happy that I’m getting a good night's rest. The only other feedback I’ve received from my foster parents is that I could do a better job listening to basic commands like “sit”, “stay”, and “lay down”. I will sometimes do those things the first time I’m asked, other times it takes a little bit of a firmer tone to get me to do what I’m told. What can I say, I’m a work in progress! I’m sure a few training courses would do me some good, because one can always work on themselves, right?

Alright, enough about things I can work on, let’s get back to some other fun things about me! I’m currently living with a 6-year-old female Rottweiler who enjoys my company most of the time. Let’s be honest – I love her, and she likes me. We do enjoy playing together, and I really enjoy her company. We don’t have any children or cats in this house, but my foster parents seem to think I’d do well with kids, unsure about cats, but maybe?

I don’t want to talk too much about myself, so I will end with the following – while most dogs don’t enjoy taking a bath, my foster parents said I do a great job at bath time! I also do well on car rides. My legs are short, but most times I can still see out the window. While I’m enjoying my time with my foster family, I can't wait to have a home to call my own, hopefully with you!
