Hi there – my name is Lutsen, but I like to go by my nickname, Lu. I'm the cutest, sweetest, piebald (black and white coloring) pup you've ever met. I ended up in foster care (along with my sister) after we were picked up while wandering around the Blue Earth area. We went to a shelter there but due to capacity and our breed (part bully) we were put on the chopping block after our fifth day there. So, Save-A-Bull stepped in and saved me just in the nick of time! Don't worry – my sister was saved as well but went with another rescue team and is living her best life with them.
I'm super smart and have already figured out kennel training! I do great while my foster parents are away and I sleep quietly until they get home. I also sleep through the night in my kennel, although every once and awhile on special nights I get to sleep in the human bed and I love it! I would love to sleep with my humans in my forever home, but I could also continue to sleep in my kennel at night.
I am just about fully potty trained! I'm still learning to communicate with my foster parents that it's time for me to go out but as long as I'm let outside regularly I'll do my business out there. I already know “sit” and "down," and I wait for my food to be set down before eating. I am learning "shake" and I almost have that down too! I know my name and respond well to it. I love treats and am very motivated to learn new things in an exchange for a treat.
I am a very playful pup and I love to run crazy zoomies around the yard. I've been loving the snow! Anytime there's fresh snow I have to go out and play in it. I like playing fetch in the yard and also just running crazy with toys in my mouth. If I need to destress, I just grab a bone and a spot on the couch and go to town!
I currently live with two other dogs and a cat. I love playing with the other dogs. We run and chase each other around the yard, wrestle, and play tug-of-war. We sometimes like to play rough but I listen when the other dogs say it's too much. When we all get tired out, I like to snuggle with the other dogs. My ideal napping spot is on top of someone, whether it's a human or another dog! I would love to live with another dog or two in my forever home, as long as they can tolerate a playful puppy. But I also would be just fine being an only dog!
I really like the cat I live with. I'm still working on learning the boundaries with him. He's just so fluffy, I can't help but follow him around and try to get him to play. I am gentle with him and he'll play with me sometimes, but I wish he would play all the time! My foster parents said I could have a cat sibling in my forever home, but they should be a dog savvy cat and my new family will have to be consistent with setting boundaries between us and making sure I stick to them.
I don't live with any kids but I love everyone so much that I can't imagine meeting a kid I wouldn't like. I get really excited to see my people and love to jump up. I have been getting better at this, but I just get so excited to see and meet new people that I still need some practice on staying down. My new family may need to continue working on that with me.
I'm so excited, my foster parents say it's my birthday soon! I have never had one and I can't wait to celebrate. I would love to celebrate with my forever family but my foster parents say we will still celebrate even if I haven't found them by then. Since it's almost my birthday, my foster parents say I should be done growing soon and that I probably won't get a whole lot bigger. Right now I'm just under 40 pounds, so I'll be the perfect medium sized dog!
