Hi, my name is Sylvie! I came to Save-A-Bull in the summer of 2023 at two years old, as an owner surrender from St. Paul Animal Control. I was originally classified as a medical case, needing surgery on my left leg for luxating patella and ACL damage. Save-A-Bull quickly stepped up and got me the medical care and surgery that I needed. I am officially cleared from the orthopedist and ready to find my forever home. Yay me!

I am fully potty trained, and know “stay”, “sit”, and “shake”! I love playing with toys and am learning how to fetch. I will keep myself occupied napping in the sun or chewing on a bone. I am improving with leash training, my foster uses a gentle leader to combat the pulling and I am responding so well! I am so eager to meet all the new people and smell all the new smells and am working on containing my excitement. My favorite spot in the house is on the couch next to my people. I adapt to my surroundings – if it's quiet, so am I; if you want to play, I do too!

I am great with all humans and older kids! I currently live with a 10-year-old human and we love each other. Smaller kids may be a challenge for me, as I get so excited to meet new people and don’t realize how big I am. I am working on how to greet people appropriately and learning not everyone wants hugs and kisses. 🙂

I currently live without any other animals in my foster home. I was surrendered to the shelter with another male dog, but I will need someone experienced with slow intros if there is another dog in the home. Due to my high energy level, I can get overly excited when meeting new dogs. It is best that my new home does not have any small dogs or cats. It would be suggested to do a crate and rotate during my decompression period. I am currently not kenneled at all, as I am fine at night and when I am alone. If a kennel is needed, it will have to be a heavy duty kind, as I am so smart and have mastered opening a standard metal kennel.

I am SO sweet and deserve my forever home. I love everyone I meet and would be perfect if you are looking for an easy going adolescent dog that has outgrown the puppy stages of training. Could this be you?
