Hi! I’m Gracie, that’s what my name tag said when I was found as a stray in St. Paul. I went to animal control for my stray hold, but no one came to claim me – until Save-A-Bull that is. My foster mom calls me Gracie Lou, as in “Gracie Lou Freebush,” aka. Miss Congeniality (with Sandra Bullock) – because I am the star of the show!
When I came to rescue, my skin was really itchy and swollen. The nice vet figured out what was wrong with me and after many antibiotics and baths later, my skin condition is resolved! LOOK AT MY GLOW UP! I still have to take one medication daily (thyroid), and get medicated baths every so often. I may have environmental allergies too, I’ve gotten a shot for it a few times at the vet. Other than that I am a healthy 8-year-old lady. It’s nothing my future family couldn’t handle and I make up for it by being the best girl!
I love all the people I meet and love to be the center of attention. When I’m excited I sometimes lick too much and have mounted humans and dogs a few times. I know not everyone loves kisses and I need to respect boundaries – it’s something I am working on. I’m easily corrected because I just want to make my humans happy. I have met little humans and have done well – they don’t scare me! And, I would want to make sure my kisses and thick 80 pound body don’t knock them over, so adult supervision is required. I have made quick friends with all of the dogs I have met. I even sniffed a cat once and think maybe I could get along with one.
My favorite thing to do is sunbathe. Sometimes I can't even move to come inside – I love it so much. I’ve even been to a Frat party! All the college kids LOVED me, although I was really interested in sniffing to find where the ice cream was. 🙂 I like snuggling with humans and playing with toys. My favorite is de-stuffing squeaky toys – it’s so much fun.
