Hi, I am Fred! Do you see how handsome I am? I love my red fur! Everyone tells me I am adorable so it must be true. I should have been named Oliver Twist or Artful Dodger – you see I was found on the streets. I don’t know how long I was out there alone because I’m a dog and I don’t know what time is, unless it is related to food. I am pretty sure all “time” should be food time!
Because I was wandering the streets so long, I am a little anxious when we first meet and it takes me a few days to learn that you really want me. Then I can relax. I am friendly but I pace around checking my surroundings until I am sure I am safe and you are going to keep me. My best skill is listening. When I am across the house or yard and you call my name I am there instantly! I am quiet in my kennel and don’t mind being in there. I am working on potty training. My foster mom lets me out frequently and I have done well with that. My foster mom and I spend a lot of time hanging out in the backyard, so that helps.
I am looking for someone who is active. They don’t know how old I am, but I am still a puppy. I have a lot of energy and my foster mom thinks that I will be less anxious if I could run off some of my energy. I am not the best on a regular leash but I am learning. I like other dogs but if I have a doggie sibling, I would want someone to teach me how to “dog”, as my manners are very “street”. I will search high and low for food to eat! My foster mom had to put the food up because I like to snack. 🙂
I do like to snuggle on your lap while you watch TV. If you pet me and tell me how beautiful I am I just melt and I am putty in your hand. I would love to meet you!
