Hi, my name is Ferdie! I am almost a year old and everyone says I’m super smart and snuggly. I’ve heard my foster parents say things like, “snuggle-baby,” “people pleaser,” “puppy enthusiasm,” and “nicest dog ever.”
Not to boast, but I learned how to “stop,” “sit,” and “stay,” in no time, and my walking skills have improved by leaps and bounds. I am working to become a great walker and jogging buddy, and hoping to find a family who enjoys outside time as much as I do. Whether I need to potty or want to say “hi” to a squirrel in the garden, I ring the bells on my door to let everyone know it is outside time. I’m still working on my table manners and am very food motivated. Since I’m so smart, I need toys and things to do or I will make my own entertainment, sometimes playing with things that are apparently “only for humans.” I know to “leave it” when asked though. 🙂
When I’m not going for walks, chewing bones, or playing with stuffies, I have a pretty predictable nap schedule. My foster family works from home and I like having them close. I get along great with their two elementary school kids, and would like to get along with their cats, but they don’t like me very much.

Why are you the very best dog in the whole world?
I give twice as much love as I get and I will protect you from all the squirrels!
What would your dream day consist of?
I would wake up with a big stretch, greet my people, go for a nice walk and come home to breakfast. Afterwards I’d play with a stuffy or chew on my bone on the floor while my people work. Ideally I’d be able to get some snuggles and naps in there! Then lunch, more play and snuggles, dinner, some more play and snuggles. Sometimes my family plays their instruments for me, and I like that. Getting in the car and going on a short adventure over the weekend is also great.
What are some of your favorite toys?
I love, love, love my kong, bones, and getting new stuffies to de-stuff. I like playing fetch with my goose too, and bubbles and water play are great!
Play all day or cuddles and snoozes?
I love to play, but I need snuggles afterwards. And naps. Naps are good!
What makes your body wiggle and your tail wag harder than anything?
Seeing my people makes me so full of happies!
Give me a description of your dream forever family.
I like to be where my people are, so ideally a family that works from home and can hang out with me as I nap and play, and get time in the yard. Kids and dogs are the best, and those who can handle my 40 lb. puppy enthusiasm seem to love me back. Could this be you?
