Hi, my name is Ellie and I am a  beautiful girl inside and out! I have a lot of love to give to my forever family. Since getting to live with my foster mom, I’ve been able to really come out of my shell. I am a very curious girl and love to smell things on counters (who doesn’t?) and overall I am very well behaved and fully house trained. If I could sit on my foster mom’s lap all day, I’d sure be in heaven, add in a blanket and I’ll never leave your side!

I love humans! You see, when I was saved by Save-A-Bull, I had a broken foot and was in rough shape. Because of that I’m a little protective of my foot but will now let my foster mom rub it and put some oil in it which keeps my paws nice and soft. And thank you for asking – my foot is fully healed! I run, jump, zoomie in the yard, and love the snow. The only reason you’d know I was hurt is when I get a little stiffness at night.

I am good at commands and know “sit”, “kennel”, “stay”, “wait”, “no”, and “shake”! A couple of things we are working on is that I do not enjoy the company of other dogs, so when we walk I get a little anxious and bark. My foster mom has me in a harness and slip leash just to make sure I’m safe and don’t slip out if anything. With some guidance (and maybe a little treat) I can redirect and my foster mom and I continue on our way. If I am having a really hard time with a certain dog, we turn around and decompress. I love walks so I hope my new forever home keeps working on this with me so I can continue to enjoy what I love most – being out in the world with humans! After our walk, I keep watch out the window or sleep in my donut bed the rest of the day.

I don’t live with any kids but my foster mom thinks I’d do just fine with those that are a little older.

I am good in a kennel when I know my humans are close by. I don’t love it when my humans leave me. We continue to work on crate training in a kennel that keeps me safe. This will take some time as I adjust to my new forever home but my foster mom says I am worth it because I really am the best girl out there!

Please know that I am so excited to meet my forever family! I need a little extra attention when dealing with other dogs and being alone but the progress I have made has been wonderful. I am very loyal to the humans that keep me safe and constantly wag my tail and smile. My favorite time of the day is when I curl up under a blanket and snooze with my people. It doesn’t take much to keep me happy and I can’t wait to meet you!
