I'm ready for my new family!

Cheryl

I'm Available

My name is Cheryl and I’m a big sweetheart that will melt your heart! I’m about four months old and just moved here from Texas. I’m more on the gentle, timid and cautious side, but that’s how I like it. I’m curious, I like to explore and I like to have fun but I just like to be sensible about it and go at my own pace.

I am getting really comfortable in my kennel. I sleep in there overnight and when my foster human is at work. I have only had one accident in my kennel, but it was my foster human’s fault  – I had an upset tummy and really needed to poop, but other than that my record is perfect! Other than that, I haven’t had any accidents in the house and have made it outside to potty every time. A few times I have even indicated towards the door that I need to go potty. I’m learning some basic obedience commands, like “sit”, “down”, “come”, etc. as well as learning how to wait before I enter a room. If I do say so myself, I’m pretty good at it so far and am on track to be amazing!

My foster home has two adult dogs (one female who is 5 years old, and one male who is 2.5 years old) and I get along with both of them. I’m submissive and when they correct me I take their corrections pretty well. We play together just a little bit; mostly I like to play alongside them but not with them – probably because they are much bigger and into their own things. Sometimes we run back and forth and sometimes we play a little game of chase. I have met one cat – neither one of us were interested in getting to know each other so we just kind of stared at each other, got bored with each other and moved on to exploring other things. I haven’t hung out with any human kids yet.

My play style is submissive when I interact with other dogs. When I play with myself or my foster human, I really like the game of tug. I also like chewing on toys that make noise. However my most favorite activity is to sniff around the yard – I can do it for hours!

I’ve got a big heart and am looking for some humans with the same. My foster human says I’m a really great catch and that somebody is going to be real lucky to have me!
