Hi, my name is Carl. I am a 2-year-old medium sized Rottweiler boy. I came from a home that had too many of us. I like to run and explore which is how I ended up at the shelter. But it’s ok, because Save-A-Bull found me and now I’m a happy boy. My foster mom says I’m a big love bug!
Once I got to my foster home, I initially had a couple accidents in the house but I have since figured it out and have reliably done all my business outside. By all accounts, my foster mom thinks I’m fully house trained. I know what “kennel up” means and my foster mom has me eat my dinner in my kennel so I think it is all around a good place. At night I go right to sleep in my kennel. I also rest quietly in my kennel while my foster mom is away (she checks on me with a camera and I am a perfect angel).
I already knew how to “sit” when I came to the shelter, but I’ve quickly learned how to “lay down”, “touch” and “kennel up”. We are working on “come,” “stay,” and “leave it”. I love to work for treats and am told that I’m very smart! I can be a bit picky but I’m currently loving freeze dried beef liver – YUM! I love walks and am learning how not to pull so much (I get really excited about squirrels). My foster mom says I’m doing better every day! Sometimes I get too excited when I meet new people and I jump up but I’m trying really hard not to do that. 🙂
In my foster home, I live with my foster mom, her two cats and chickens. There is a fenced in backyard for me to explore. The chickens are outside and they live in their own run. I’m really curious about them but I don’t bother with them too much. My old home might have had cats and many of my puppies and friends who were rescued have done well with cats. But I’ve tried chasing the cats here a little too much so I might do better in a home without cats. I just can’t help myself. My foster mom thinks I’d do great in just about any living arrangement – including living with respectful kiddos and friendly dogs.
I love getting out every day for a walk and playing in the backyard chasing a tennis ball. I don’t always bring it back but I like to roll it around on the ground, teasing you to come get it. I will need a taller fence as I can jump pretty high for my size and was a bit of a roamer and/or escape artist in my old home. When I’m not out for walks or playing in the yard, I’m just as happy to hang at home with everyone around. When my foster mom works from home, I really like it when she lets me lay under her desk.
I would love to meet you!
