Hi, my name is Birdie! My body has been compared to the likes of an otter. I'm long, lean, and have a sleek shine to my fur. Some would say I sparkle! I enjoy my beauty sleep. Sometimes I sleep in so late I have to be woken up, but don't worry my kennel stays accident free. The beginning of my story is not so glamorous. I was found wandering the deserts of New Mexico; dirty, skinny, and afraid. All of a sudden I got the golden ticket! A good Samaritan down south saved me. They took me in, cared for me, fed me, and sent me up on a private plane to the land of 10,000 lakes. Now here I am and ready for my spotlight!

I hate to brag, but I'm pretty perfect! In the time I've been in my foster home I've only had one accident. Not bad for a puppy! I am also kennel trained. I like the finer things in life – I prefer to sleep while listening to the sounds of classical piano with blankets over my kennel. I sleep in my kennel on the lower level of the house. I am working on “sit”, ringing a bell to go outside, and the command "drop it " while playing fetch. I have not taken any training courses yet, as I've only been in Minnesota about a week. Once I'm settled with my family I would love to take a training class. I love treats and praise from my humans. If my humans are happy, so am I.

I have two human siblings. I am the luckiest girl around! They love me so much and even dress me in clothes to keep me warm and comfy. My foster sister is 12 and my brother is 14. We love to play, eat, and snuggle together. I have not had the privilege to meet a feline friend. I'm a pretty easy going gal and would think we would be just fine. One of the best parts about being in my foster home is that I have two dog siblings. Stanley is 2-years-old and is ready to run and play with me. Blanche is 6-years-old, she's an older woman who tends to keep to herself. I am definitely winning her over though – today was a big day, we shared the same giant dog bed! I can definitely hold my own when it comes to playing with the big dogs. At the same time, I tend to be more submissive.

I love to wrestle with my dog brother, Stanley – he's a gentle giant. Besides puppy play, I love all the toys – stuffed animals, ropes, and bones. I like to mix it up. I don't mean to be conceited, but I shine and am full of life. I live for every moment.  What is that phrase? I think it's "work hard, play hard", and I like to throw in "nap hard". That is my mantra.

In my forever home, I would love having a big dog to play with. It’s totally okay if that's not in the cards either. All I really need is someone to love me forever. This person or family would play with me, nap with me, and give me the forever home I've always dreamed of. I would sleep in and have a lazy morning, slowly eat brunch, sneak in a good amount of play time, and then some good long nap. Could this be you?
