Hello my name is Basil! I am a beautiful brindle boy with very unique patterns. My foster mom says I look like a little brown bengal tiger. I've been told that my mom was a Shepherd and my dad was a Pitbull. I enjoy exploring new things, but mostly I like to stay close to my humans. I came to Save-A-Bull with my four siblings from a reservation in northern Minnesota. I had never been inside before coming to my foster home and I LOVE it! When I came into my foster home I really didn’t know how to play with toys. I am now discovering the joys of tug-o-war, squeaky toys and bones to chew on.
Potty training has been going exceptionally well! My foster mom has me on a schedule, and I am proud to say that I’ve never had an accident in the house. I don’t mind being outside, but when I get my business done I want to come back inside and find the heat register. 🙂 I am a champ in my kennel! Sometimes I cry a bit when I first go in, but I calm down after a few minutes. At night I settle in nicely and sleep all night without an accident, which is a plus for my foster mom. I have only been in my foster home for a short time, so life is a learning experience for me.
I do not live with any kids, but I’m a friendly guy so I’m sure I would love them. In my foster home, I live with a six-year-old female pittie, a four-year-old male pittie (both Save-A-Bull alumni) and two cats. I am very respectful of my foster siblings' space. When the older cat hisses at me, I shower him with kisses and it throws him off his game, as no puppy has ever done this before. 🙂 My older doggie sister takes a while to warm up to puppies, but she has warmed up to me quickly as I am so chill.
They are teaching me:
I am still learning lots of things about life and need a family who is willing to patiently teach me. I have so much love to give. If your family is looking for a mellow and fun-loving pup, I’m your guy!
