Hi there! I’m Axel – your future snuggle buddy, playmate, and all-around happy guy!
I’m a super sweet, people-loving pup who’s always ready for fun. I adore toys, playing, being outside, and cuddling (especially cuddling). I’m playful and silly and love being active, but I also appreciate a good, long nap on the couch. My foster parents say I’ve got the perfect balance of energy and chill – the best of both worlds!
Playtime is basically my favorite hobby.
I love sprinting around the house or yard with a toy, tugging with my foster parents, or wrestling with the dog friends I live with. Give me a chew toy and I’ll happily settle down for a solid gnawing session. I enjoy going for walks and hanging out outside, too. I’m still trying to decide how I feel about winter – the cold and snow aren’t my favorites yet. I miss sunbathing on the grass and playing in the hose! Luckily, my foster parents got me a warm jacket, and that helps a lot. I’m sure I’ll get used to winter eventually, but I’ll still be counting the days until sunshine returns.
When playtime is over, it’s cuddle time.
Once I’m tired out, I love lounging on the couch – especially if my people are there. Personal space? Nope! If you sit down, I’m climbing into your lap. If we’re on the couch together, we’re snuggling. That’s the rule.
I live with two dogs and a cat right now.
I LOVE the dogs – we have a blast together! My foster parents say I’m a bit of a boundary-pusher, but it’s only because I get so excited about playing. I’d do great living with another dog, as long as they’re confident, playful, and comfortable giving me (and enforcing!) clear corrections. As for cats – well, I think they’re fascinating. Too fascinating! I really want to play with the one here – he looks like a fluffy puppy. But I get way too excited, so my foster parents say I’d be happiest in a cat-free home.
Kids? I think they’re awesome!
I don’t live with any, but I’ve met lots, and I love getting pets and attention from them. Because I get excited easily and am still working on my manners, I’d probably do best with older kids who won’t get overwhelmed by my enthusiasm.
I’ve been working hard on my training, and I’m doing great!
I’m a kennel rockstar – I go right in, nap quietly while my foster parents work, and stay calm when they leave. I sleep through the night and wait patiently in the morning. My potty training is solid too, as long as I’m kept on a consistent schedule.
When I first arrived, I was a very hyper, undersocialized pup. But I’ve made SO much progress. I do best with structure, routines, and clear expectations. My forever family should be ready to help me keep learning, set boundaries, and guide me as I continue to grow. My foster parents think an obedience class would be an awesome way for us to bond and help me settle in.
I’ve been through a lot in my young life, but I’m a resilient, loving, goofy guy who just wants to make my people happy.
I’m ready for my forever home, and I can’t wait to meet the family who chooses me. I hope we’re the perfect match!
