Hello, my name is Aoki. I have big brown eyes and the perfect mask around my eyes – I’m a superhero! I like to jump around like Happy Feet. I also snort when I get really excited like a little piggy, it’s really cute. I had a rough start in life, coming from a shelter in Texas which euthanizes dogs/puppies who are not claimed in a short time. I made it out thanks to the good folks at Save-A-Bull.
I am potty trained for the most part. I may have an accident here and there, but I’m getting lots of treats when I potty outside and I am gaining confidence every day. I even go potty on a leash now! I am learning that my kennel is a good place to be. I whine a bit before I go to sleep but it is not loud or for too long. At night I sleep in my kennel with my stuffed baby and my foster mom gives me blankets to keep me warm. I am learning all sorts of new things! I have mastered “sit" and “come.” I am also learning eye contact and most of all, I’m learning how to be a puppy. I have learned to sooth myself with my favorite blue stuffy that my human foster brother gave me. I would love to take some training classes – it would be a great way to bond with my new forever family. I am so smart, you will see when I understand something for the first time – it is so amazing to watch. My biggest motivators are TREATS and LOVE!
In my foster home I live with kids ages 7, 10, 12, and 15. I love them! I can be a little jumpy at times, so for now human siblings 12 or older would be best for me. I haven’t met any cats yet. I live with two dogs in my foster home – my foster brother is big at 96 lbs., and my foster sister is six months old. I’m more on the dominant side. I like to run, jump and wrestle my foster sister. My big brother thinks I'm a bit too much, so we don’t play much.
Some other fun facts about me:
Why are you the very best dog in the whole world?
I did not come from the best start but I am loving, affectionate, smart, funny, and oh so much fun! My foster mom calls me Spunky Brewster, as I have a little spunk that keeps me going.
What would your dream day consist of?
Food and lots of play. Having ice cream! Running a lot, maybe a walk by the water. I love walks SO much!
What are some of your favorite toys?
I needed to gain a little weight, so my foster mom was finding fun ways to get my brain going and making my belly happy. Some of my favorites are my bone with peanut butter and ice cubes in my kennel (my foster mom makes them with yummy food in them).
Play all day or cuddles and snoozes?
Play all day, unless I really need a nap!
What makes your body wiggle and your tail wag harder than anything?
Did I say TREATS! I do love being loved on and verbal praise.
Give me a description of your dream forever family.
I would like someone who has experience, patience and is a strong leader – I will need this. I need a confident home that will help me grow and excel at this dog thing. I am loving it so much, every day I feel more and more amazing! I can take naps now without being stressed out and it is great. I am loving learning how to play with toys. Wow, how did life go on before? I need someone that can keep me very busy and work with me on my anxiety. I know in the right home with the right structure and love I will be the best dog ever! My foster mom says I’m going to fill someone’s heart and home because I am so special. Could this be you?
