Hi, my name is Amelia. I am a very feisty and lovable girl! I am mostly light brown in color. I have a wrinkly little face, black speckles and white markings on my face and neck. I have a black streak down my back and a beautiful black tail. The person who had me was going to dispose of me, so a nice Save-A-Bull alumni took me in and now I’m in rescue. How lucky am I! I am slowly getting used to being part of a family, and am starting to explore my surroundings more and more each day. I am getting settled into a routine of eating, playing, and napping.
I am doing very well at potty training. My foster mom has me on a schedule and I do have a few accidents – but hey, I’m still a puppy! I sleep soundly in my kennel at night. I am not a fan of going in my kennel when my foster parents have to leave. I cry for a while and then settle in, realizing that they will come back. I have only been in my foster home for a short time, so life is a learning experience for me. I am learning my name and fun things like “sit,” “come,” and “no.”
In my foster home, I live with a 4-year-old female pittie, a 2-year-old male pittie (both Save-A-Bull alumni) and two cats. The kitties are teaching me how to respectfully approach and interact with them. My older (dog) foster sister is teaching me to be respectful of my elders, but I still love to chase them all and let them know I can stand up for myself! I particularly enjoy playing with my younger (dog) sibling, who is teaching when and when not to use my sharp little teeth.
I’m discovering all of my foster siblings' toys which they let me play with – unless it’s one of their favorites. I can easily entertain myself when my foster siblings are away or napping. I am a very social girl! I have humorous bursts of energy, leaping around and trying to engage anything moving near me, followed by a long, deep nap. I especially like being with my people – I often nap at their feet when they are working so I can keep them close by. I absolutely LOVE being outside – there is so much to see, smell and put in my mouth. 🙂
I am still learning lots of things about life and need a family who is willing to patiently teach me. I have so much love to give – could that family be you?
Amelia is a "foster to adopt" puppy. "Foster to adopt” applicants must qualify to be a foster with Save-A-Bull Rescue. This applicant would be able to take Amelia to all scheduled appointments at the Save-A-Bull vetting partner clinics for applicable medical needs, and Save-A-Bull will incur the costs until Amelia is adopted.
