Hello, I’m Perkins! If you're looking for a professional snuggler, loyal sidekick, and all-around sweetheart, I think we should talk.
I’m a puppy, which means I definitely enjoy playing, exploring, and investigating all the important things in life. You know – leaves, toys, random noises, and whatever my foster family is doing at any given moment. But unlike some puppies who seem to run on endless batteries, I come equipped with a pretty impressive off switch. After a good play session, I’m more than happy to curl up next to my people and recharge with a nap.
I currently live with some resident dogs, and I think they are the coolest. If they're exploring the yard, I'm right behind them. If they're lounging around, I figure that's a pretty good idea too. They've been teaching me the ropes, and I'm paying close attention because I want to grow up to be the best boy possible. I'm also working hard on potty training and making great progress every day.
There’s also a cat in my foster home, and I’m pretty sure we should be best friends. I sometimes get a little excited trying to convince the cat to play with me, but I'm learning that cats have their own opinions about these things. Luckily, I listen well when I'm reminded to use my manners.
One of my favorite hobbies is following my humans everywhere. Need to go to the kitchen? Great, I'll come too. Heading to the living room? Sounds fun. Walking to another room for absolutely no reason? Count me in. My foster family says I'm their little shadow, and honestly, I take that job very seriously.
When it comes to sleeping arrangements, I have excellent taste. My favorite place to snooze is tucked underneath the bed pillows or wedged right between them. It's cozy, it's warm, and it lets me stay as close as possible to my people. That's what I call a perfect nap.
I also love hanging out with the teenagers in my foster home. Whether they're watching TV, doing homework, or just relaxing, I firmly believe I should be included in whatever is happening. After all, moral support is important.
My foster family says one of the sweetest things about me is how much I love affection. They're probably right! I’m still discovering how wonderful it feels to be loved, and when someone pets me, I often close my eyes and soak up every second like it's the greatest thing in the world. Because honestly, it kind of is.
I'm still learning that kennel time isn't so bad. I might whimper a little when I first go in, but I'm getting more comfortable with it every day and learning that it's a safe place to relax.
