Hi, I’m Carleton! I’m originally from Texas, and I made the big trip to Minnesota with my littermates and am ready to explore my new home. I’ve got a coat covered in unique spots, each one different from the last, making me a true one-of-a-kind pup. My ears are floppy and a bit comical – they always seem to have a mind of their own, especially when I’m running around or getting curious about something. My eyes are one of my most expressive features, one of them has its own spot too! It gives me a bit of a quirky charm. I’m told I’m a cute boy for sure.
I'm doing really well with potty training! I show clear signs (like intense ground-sniffing) when I need to go outside, so I’m learning how to communicate my needs. Kennel training is going smoothly too, I’m getting comfortable with my kennel and see it as a safe space. I’m well on my way to mastering “sit" (especially if there’s a treat involved!) and I’m currently working on keeping all four paws on the floor – jumping is just so tempting when I’m excited, but I’m learning. I haven’t started on all the tricks just yet, but I’m eager and ready. I’m very food motivated, which makes training easier and more fun for both of us. Show me a treat, and you’ve got my full attention!
I live with my foster brother Jeter, and we get along great! We play a lot, and I love having a buddy around. I can be a little vocal when I get excited, but I’m quick to settle down when told. I haven’t met any cats or children yet, but I’m definitely curious about meeting new humans. I think I’d be great with kids and other people once I get to know them.
I’d be a great family dog! I’m flexible, so whether you're up for an active day outside or prefer to chill on the couch, I’m in. I love being outdoors, but I also enjoy curling up for a good cuddle. I’m pretty independent and can be left alone with my human or around other pets without any issues. So, if you're looking for a well-rounded companion who can match your energy, I’m your guy!
