My name is Poppy. My foster mom says that I might be the prettiest puppy she has ever seen! She says that my brindle tiger stripes glow in the sunlight. I came into rescue from a home where I was outside all the time – that being said I love to play outside and I really like to play fetch in the yard with toys, sticks and balls. I even bring them back to be thrown again. 🙂
I’m working hard on potty training and I’m super treat-motivated. Honestly, I haven’t met a treat I didn’t like! I used to be a shy eater who would save my meals for later, but now I know it’s okay to enjoy food when it’s given with love. I’m learning all sorts of manners – like not jumping, how to “sit,” and how to let my paws be wiped off after a muddy adventure. I used to be unsure about my kennel, but now it’s kind of my chill zone, especially when I get a nice chew bone. I’m quiet in there too – not even a bark.
I live with two big doggy foster siblings and I’m great at sharing food. Toys and bones? Well, I might borrow those sometimes (sharing is caring, right?). I really love playing with them – even if they pretend not to notice. I think they secretly love me.
My foster mom jokes that I’m more of a “dog’s dog” and just like her because she feeds me, but don’t believe her. When I’m done zooming and playing, there’s nothing better than curling up next to her for a cuddle. I may be goofy and wild at times, but I’ve got a tender heart, too.
I’m looking for a family that has patience and a little time to help me keep learning and growing. I promise I’ll try my very best. I absolutely love to be outside, so a family that enjoys the outdoors and has the time to play with me would be ideal! I hope they’ll teach me new things, and let me show them just how much love this little tiger-striped pup can give.
