Hi, I’m Onyx! I’m small in stature with a big personality. I’ve got a beautiful dark gray/chocolate brown coat and my eyes match perfectly! I weigh just 35 pounds, I’m working on gaining a few pounds to be at a healthy weight.
Potty training is going well! In the short time I’ve been in my foster home, I’ve learned about routines. I still have some work to do, as I haven’t learned how to let my foster mom know when I have to go outside. We’ve learned that it’s best if I go outside immediately after being let out of my kennel. 🙂 I’m making good progress on kennel training. It's not my favorite place, I’d rather be close to my person/people. I have some separation anxiety too, if my foster mom is out of sight, I’ll let her know she needs to come back soon.
I was previously in a home with two little humans (ages 4 and 2). It was a very busy household, I’d prefer a quieter home with less excitement. I’d love to be the only dog in the household because I want all the attention! However, I wouldn’t mind an older, mellow (no drama) male dog in the home. Snuggling is my area of expertise, if I can have my person all to myself, that would make me a very happy pup!
Other things to mention about me: baths are awesome – I love spa time! I eat from a slow-feed bowl because I inhale food. I have a stellar vertical leap, I can clear baby gates with no problem. I walk great on a leash! I haven't met any new dogs on my walks, as walks are brand new to me so learning leash manners is priority number one.
