Hello, my name is Sapphire. My foster parents say I'm a super spunky girl! I love to run and play – I have a lot of puppy energy. I'm also a super sweet and loving puppy. I love to give snuggles, meet new people and am always ready for pets and cuddles. I also love learning and listening. Most of all, I aim to please and just want to make my humans happy!
I've been working really hard on potty training and learning commands. My potty training is going really well. I'm still learning to communicate when I have to go outside, as I'm still a puppy with a small bladder. My forever family should expect to continue to do a little bit of training with me, but my foster parents say I'm super smart and eager to learn so it shouldn't be a problem at all. I've also learned to “sit”. I love to show you how well I can sit, especially when there are treats involved!
I've been doing a lot of work with kennel training. My foster parents say I am a rockstar in my kennel! It usually takes a treat to get me in, but once I am in I settle down right away and wait patiently until it's time to get out. When my foster parents leave the house I just sleep in my kennel until they get home. I don't mind taking breaks in the kennel when I need to wind down or if my foster parents have work to do around the house. I can sleep through the night in my kennel and I'll even sleep in. Some nights I get to sleep out of my kennel and in bed with my foster parents – it's my favorite!
I love all toys so much, but my favorite toys are balls and bones. I love to play fetch and my foster parents say I'm great at fetch, especially for being a bumbly little puppy. I love to play tug-of-war and show off how tough I am. You can also find me chewing on nylabones. Really any toy is good enough for me! When I need to let out some energy, I'll run laps around the house. I can have some crazy zoomies. My foster parents say I have springs in my feet because I can bounce around the house like a little maniac!
I love playing with the other dogs I live with. I'm still learning to play gently – I just get so excited that I get a little carried away, but the dogs let me know when it's been too much and I listen to them and take a break. I would love to live with another dog, but I would be best with a dog who is patient and able to handle a high energy puppy who is still learning boundaries and manners. I wouldn't mind being an only dog either. All the attention and treats to myself wouldn't be so bad! I live with a cat and I really like him. I wish he would play with me but he mostly ignores me. I get super excited when I see him and run up to him ready to play. My foster parents have to remind me to be gentle with him, so I listen and move on. My foster parents say I will need more training and help from my forever family if I live with a cat.
After I get worn out from playing I love to relax on the couch, especially on a lap or cuddling one of the other dogs. I am such a loving pup and I have so much love to share. I would love to give you endless snuggles and kisses! My foster parents say that my forever family is going to be so lucky to have such a special girl. I'm so excited to meet you!
