Hello! My name is Taki (aka Taki Bear). I have the most beautiful eyes and loveable squish face! I got my name because I can be a little bit spicy sometimes, but everyone still loves me.
I am potty trained on a schedule, but haven’t quite gotten how to go to the door and tell my mom, so if I’m not taken out regularly I can sometimes have a little accident. I have always used a kennel, so I don’t have any issues going in the kennel when my family leaves the house or I need to take a break. I usually sleep in the kennel as well at night, but sometimes I’m allowed to sleep on the couch. I really like the couch! One of my favorite things to do is take big naps, hanging halfway off of it, upside down. 🙂
I really like bones! I love to just chew for a bit in between my naps. I can be mouthy and I'm working on that. I do it when I’m really excited/overstimulated, my biggest trigger for this is when my people come home and I first see them. I am just so happy they’re here and it doesn’t feel like my cute wiggling butt is enough to show them how excited I am to see them, but my mom keeps assuring me it is. I can “sit” and will “wait” to go through a doorway or eat my food until I’m told “ok, yes” if I am asked to, but everything else is a work in progress, and I need a strong confident leader to help me master my skills. I’m a professional beggar though and will make sure you know I’d like a piece of what you’re having. The good news is, I’m super food motivated, so once I find my person I know we will hit our stride together quickly.
I walk really well on a leash and love to go for shorter walks or just sit outside with my person enjoying the fresh air or chewing a bone. I am looking for a home with no kids, they are just too much chaos for me, and I prefer my naps to go as uninterrupted as possible. I also need a home with no cats. I currently live with a beagle (gosh, he’s annoying!) and for the most part we get along. I would do best as the only prince in the palace, but I think I could also get along with dogs similar in size and play style. I like to play rough and it can be too much for some. I have met a super nice bully breed before and we did get along. I invited him over for a slumber party and we played a lot. When I got to be too much for him, I did a pretty good job of listening to his corrections. I have also met a Golden Retriever, she took a little bit more getting used to so I had to slowly get to know her. Once I did, I decided she was okay and we played well together. My ideal home doesn’t have any kids or cats. I think I would really like being the only pet, but I could potentially share my humans with a dog similar in size that doesn’t mind playing rough.
Like any pup, I get the zoomies, but for the most part you can catch me snoozing or slowly sauntering through the house until I decide to dramatically throw myself onto the floor for some rest. My current family keeps telling me I’d be the perfect boy if they didn’t have kids. I would not be appropriate for an apartment, so my dream house has a nice big yard I can go into and enjoy time with you. I also need my people to be confident leaders to show me the ropes. I can be a typical sassy bulldog, but I will take direction if you stay consistent with me.
Speaking of being a typical bulldog, if you don’t like slobbery kisses and doggy toots, I’m probably not your guy. I can be independent but also love my people and will let them know it. While I do have a few things that can be filed under “needs work” I’m overall a really great guy, who just needs to find the right home to call my happily ever after. My current mom says someone is going to hit the jackpot with me, because once I am in a calmer home and able to really focus on being the best boy I can be, I’ll make someone so happy.
