Hi, I’m Petra. My eyes tell you exactly how sweet I am, and I look at you with love all the time. My coat is super soft and I have beautiful tan and white markings. I have an awesome pitty woo instead of a bark, and I snore like an old man! I am a little afraid of going down the stairs but am getting better all the time. I don’t really like treats, but I love ice cubes! I am named after a character in a book series about kids that are called dragon masters. My human foster sister wanted me to have a special name based on a strong female character.
My sister and I were found abandoned in a park in Minneapolis and brought to the shelter where we had to sit in kennels with loud parking for five whole days. A nice lady and a cute girl picked us up and brought us home. We thought we had won the lottery!
I am working on potty training and am kennel trained! I sleep in my kennel all night, about eight hours. I have mastered “sit” and am working on “stay” and “wait.” I would love to take some training classes to be the best doggy possible! My biggest motivators are lots of love and praise.
In my foster home I live with a 9-year-old girl that smells so good and loves to snuggle. I haven’t met any cats yet. I have two big doggie foster siblings that apparently came from Save-A-Bull also – a boy and a girl. They weren’t really interested in me at first but we have found a way to play and hang out. As I become more comfortable, I am initiating more interaction with them. I am more on the submissive side around them, but I love to play chase and toss toys around to see who grabs them. I also love nibbling on my littermate sister!

Why are you the very best dog in the whole world?
My human foster calls me sweetie, as I am apparently super sweet and loveable. I love to snuggle any chance I can get! I just want to be with my people as much as possible.
What general knowledge TV or movie character are you most like and why?
Reese Witherspoon – she is kind, gentle, sweet and loyal. As I come more and more out of my shell, I get more bold and brave.
What are some of your favorite toys?
I have a bee with crinkly wings and a tree trunk stuffed with squirrels that squeak.
Play all day or cuddles and snoozes?
I like to play some but will always prefer cuddles and snoozes.
What makes your body wiggle and your tail wag harder than anything?
When you come home after being gone, even if it’s only for five minutes. To me it feels like five hours and I miss you!
What would your dream day consist of?
Definitely a good breakfast and an ice cube snack! Playtime followed by nap time. Repeat all day!
