Adopted: August, 2019

Dog’s former name: Valka (Dragon Litter)

What are the best things about your dog?
Turtle is sassy, spunky, and loves all creatures- big or small. She thinks her sister, Paisley, walks on water and they have a really special bond. She also has a very pretty brindle coloring and a ridiculous underbite that people are drawn to. She is also 40% Boston Terrier, which was a complete surprise!

Tell us about your dogs favorite activities, sports or training:
Turtle took up vole hunting in the yard this summer. Besides eating, her favorite activity is diving in to the hosta and catching voles. But she doesn’t kill them- she plays with them by gently letting them out of her mouth, and then chasing them when they run. That is definitely NOT my favorite activity that she does.

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments?
Turtle is a Service Dog in Training, and she will be my gluten-detection medical alert dog. She LOVES to find gluten and work for me, and while I’m not sure she will ever pass her public access training (because she loves people too much), I know that she will be able to alert to gluten for me at home and when we travel. She is a really special dog to me because she could save my life one day.

How do people react to your “pit bull”?
They adore her!

Does your dog have any nicknames?
The Turd.
