Adopted: March, 2019

Dog’s former name: Porkchop

What are the best things about your dog?
Buddy was our fifth foster and our only foster-fail. Buddy was an immediate fit with our family. He is so adaptable to what’s going on around him. Want to hike for the day? Buddy is ready to go. If you want to chill and watch movies for the day, he’s the first one on the couch, saving his favorite spot. Buddy is a big, gentle teddy bear.

Tell us about your dogs favorite activities, sports or training:
Buddy loves to go for walks and he loves to relax on the couch and watch the squirrels. He watches America’s Funniest Home Videos every Sunday evening and barks at every animal.

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments?
We have been able to continue to foster with Buddy. He needs slow introductions, as he can be quite jealous, but he always makes a new friend and is sad when his friends leave.

How do people react to your “pit bull”?
Buddy has no idea why people would be afraid of him. He loves everyone and considers everyone his best friend. We have worked with Buddy during the past year so he does not run up to people, but keeps his attention on us, so we can do a slow introduction. Everyone is surprised by Buddy’s sweet and gentle temperament.

Does your dog have any nicknames?
Bud, Budster, Budder

FAST FIVE with Buddy

  1. Food: Piggy or picky? Piggy!
  2. Dog beds: Sleep on or unstuff? Unstuff
  3. Travel: Car rides or car sick? Loves car rides, if he can have the front seat. If he’s in the back seat, he whines.
  4. Water: No way or splash all day? Not a fan of water, but mud is awesome!
  5. Seasons: A day in the sun or a day in the snow? Sunshine!
