Female - 7 years old
Hi, I’m ‘Lil Bean! My snaggle teeth and my underbite are hard to not fall in love with. When I’m feeling particularly happy I like to throw myself to the ground and flail around on my back like a maniac! My foster mom picked me up from Animal Control so my background is a mystery.
I am completely potty trained, I have never had an accident in my foster home. I am totally content in my kennel when my foster mom is home and she says I need a time out. I do have some separation anxiety, so being alone in my kennel when my foster mom is not home is a bit stressful for me. My foster mom does have to puppy proof before she leaves because I do get a little anxious, but we are working on it. At night I snuggle up real close with my foster mom, she says I’m the best snuggler! I love it so much some mornings she has to bribe me out of bed!
I am really good at sit, stay and ‘look at me.’ I am a fast learner and will do just about anything for a treat! Because of the pandemic, regular classes aren’t really in the cards for me, but I have met with a trainer and a behaviorist, and they’ve given my mom some great tools and routines to work on to help me with my confidence out in the world. We are working on my manners. We play fun games that are helping build my confidence and that can be used as distraction tools when I need to be redirected. I have issues with reactivity when seeing other dogs when I’m out and about. We are working hard on this, and I would need someone willing to diligently continue this training. I am starting some new medications that will hopefully calm me a little to help with my separation anxiety and dog reactivity. One day my mom took me to the salon she works at and I got to meet so many people, I was a huge hit! I might not ever be a dog that can go to the dog park or be a patio dog, but I make up for in how much I love my humans.
I haven’t had much interaction with kids, but probably wouldn’t do well with real little ones till I learned my manners a little better. I just get very excited for new people and get a little jumpy, plus everyone tells me I have a whip for a tail! I’m not sure how I’d do with cats, I saw one once on a walk and wasn’t overly interested, and I don’t show much interest in all the little animals that come eat at my moms sliding glass door. I am the kind of girl that would need to be the only dog in the house, and would need ongoing work with my excitement level when I see other dogs.
I am a very eager to please girl that just wants to snuggle and be loved. I love my walks just as much as I love my naps. Can’t wait to meet you!
