Update on Pitsy Cline

Update on Pitsy Cline

Adopted: February 28th, 2020

Dog’s former name: Piper

What are the best things about your dog?
Her size; she’s small but very mighty. Pitsy Cline is down for anything as long as she is with us. She’s a spitfire and makes us laugh and smile. She is full of spunk and loves to cuddle next to us and her brother. Also is eager to please and learns quick. And obviously is adorable and did I mention her size.

Tell us about your dogs favorite activities, sports or training:
Loves to show off with toys (tennis ball is her favorite) and play with her senior brother but he gets tired quicker. She loves wrestling with blankets. She loves running zumies inside, bouncing off the couch, and running as fast as any dog ever in her backyard. She can jump straight up easily 5-6 feet. She can go from 0-100 or 100-0; zumies to cuddling or cuddling to zumies when momma or dad comes home.

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments?
We’ve been RVing this summer and she loves it. She loves rides and road trips; she is the co pilot. Pitsy is working on reacting to other dogs and squirrels since she can get obsessed but she learns quickly, and now pretty much ignores the constant barking neighbor dog. She’s also working on leash manners as she loves to pull.

How do people react to your “pit bull”?
Not much of a reaction from strangers besides how adorable she is, but she loves everyone!

Does your dog have any nicknames?
Little lady, Pitsy pie, itsy bitsy, crazy

Update on Bernice

Update on Bernice

Adopted: August, 2019

Dog’s former name: Posey

What are the best things about your dog?
How much room do you have? Everything about Bernice is magical and wonderful. She can make a game out of pretty much anything from cleaning to going to bed; she loves to tear up her toys and play with the fabric scraps,- she will bring them to people like she’s giving them a gift; she adores her big brother, Irving and her 3 cat siblings and they actually love her too!; she sits on the couch in my office all day while I work and if she gets bored she will stand behind my chair, put her paw around my shoulders like she’s telling me that it’s time for a break; She’s incredibly affectionate with everyone and she loves to snuggle.

Tell us about your dogs favorite activities, sports or training:
Bernice is pretty lazy. She does enjoy a good walk but more than 2 miles requires napping for the rest of the day. She completed Obedience 1 at Canine Coach like a boss. Her favorite sport is catching water from the hose. She also loves to be chased – preferably by me.

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments?
Bernice won over her highly dog reactive big brother in a very short time. She taught him how to snuggle and play and how to be a happy dog again. She has given him a whole new sense of joy in living. That is a huge accomplishment.

How do people react to your “pit bull”?
Bernice is such a smiley, sweet girl that people always want to meet her. She has a way of disarming even people who have professed to not normally liking dogs.

Does your dog have any nicknames?
Neetie, P. Snuggins, Loveybear, Silky, Beastie, Princess Rabies, Little Chocolate, Tiny Spice

FAST FIVE with Bernice

  1. Food: Piggy or picky? Piggy
  2. Dog beds: Sleep on or unstuff? Sleep on
  3. Travel: Car rides or car sick? Cars are terrifying until the ride is underway
  4. Water: No way or splash all day? Splash all day
  5. Seasons: A day in the sun or a day in the snow? A day in the sun

Update on Albert

Update on Albert

Adopted: June, 2019

Dog’s former name: Albert

What are the best things about your dog?
Albert (Alby) is the best cuddler and biggest love bug around! He loves his fur sister, Merona, and human siblings too!

Tell us about your dogs favorite activities, sports or training:
Albert loves going to the dog park with his fur sister, Merona and tries to keep up. He also discovered swimming and jumped right in to the lake off the dock at the cabin! He also loves digging in trash cans and knows how to open trash can lids as well as doors. Mom and Dad have since invested in a dog proof trash can!

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments?
Albert has had quite an eventful first year! Although the vet is unsure how, he ruptured the ACLs of both back legs. He had surgery on the first knee in March and is doing great! He goes to physical therapy and gets regular checkups at the vet. Thankfully, he is off activity restrictions for now and can enjoy the outdoors and summer. The vet said we can plan on fall for surgery on his other leg.

How do people react to your “pit bull”?
I don’t think Albert has met any human or animal he isn’t completely in love with! Albert did a 5k walk for arthritis with Mom last year and got multiple compliments on his friendly demeanor and that Alby is helping break the stereotype of pitbulls being aggressive dogs.

Does your dog have any nicknames?
Alby, Albs, Albsters, Thicker than a Snicker, Sugar Plum

FAST FIVE with Albert

  1. Food: Piggy or picky? Piggy-he will take pills without anything and loves veggies and fruits
  2. Dog beds: Sleep on or unstuff? Sleep on!
  3. Travel: Car rides or car sick? LOVES car rides and peaking his head out the sun roof
  4. Water: No way or splash all day? Splash all day! We even bought him his own kiddy pool.
  5. Seasons: A day in the sun or a day in the snow? A day in the sun. One of his favorite past times is laying on his belly on the warm sidewalk.

Update on Betsy

Adopted: June, 2019

Adopted: 6/22/2019

Dog’s former name: Betsy

What are the best things about your dog?
She is fantastic with the boys. She loves playing with them and is very patient, but has implemented a warning system with the 3 year old, if necessary. It is fun to watch them communicate with each other.

Tell us about your dogs favorite activities, sports or training:
She enjoys walks, especially when we get into the woods. There is definitely some sort of hunting dog mixed in. She routinely clears the yard of squirrels, rabbits, and chipmunks. She has learned if she isn’t barking at them, they don’t get a head start. So far, she has only caught a few mice.

She loves playing tug of war and playing in a toy tent in the back yard with the boys. The 3 of them all get the zoomies together and dive in and out of the tent.

Her other hobby is following our 3 year old around any time he has food since he always drops something. He also holds out his hands so Betsy can clean them for him, even between bites!

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments?
Betsy has a hard time meeting new dogs. However, this is now only when she is on a leash. If we bring her somewhere, or have another dog at our place we can just let her loose and everything goes great!

How do people react to your “pit bull”?
Most people have no idea she is a pit bull since she is so slender. We have encountered some when told she is a pit bull have their whole demeanor change. However, normal people just comment on how friendly and pretty she is.

Does your dog have any nicknames?
Bets, Betsy Boo

FAST FIVE with Betsy

  1. Food: Piggy or picky? Piggy when it comes to table scraps, picky when it comes to dog food.
  2. Dog beds: Sleep on or unstuff? Unstuff.
  3. Travel: Car rides or car sick? Nervous and excited about where we are going.
  4. Water: No way or splash all day? No way. When the kiddie pool or any water is outside she is hiding in the garage.
  5. Seasons: A day in the sun or a day in the snow? She loves to sun outside, but gets crazy zoomies when there is fresh snow.
