Update on Gracie

Update on Gracie

Adopted: February

Dog’s former name: Toast

What are the best things about your dog?
Umm… Look at her! Amazing cuddler, greets us with the wiggle butt, she wants to cuddle with her big brother. And she also snores a bit, but don’t we all?

Tell us about your dogs favorite activities, sports or training:
So there’s napping and cuddling… leaping from couch to couch, eating very messy-like, and cuddling. I don’t think I can stress enough how much she wants to be by or on us; cuddling is her thing.

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments?
Not yet, but she’s pretty cool, so stay tuned!

How do people react to your “pit bull”?
She’s a mix, but all my people have only asked if she’s gentle, which she is.

Does your dog have any nicknames?
Hercules, Beefy, Schwartzadoggie. Those are from her other mother. I named her Gracie.

FAST FIVE with Gracie

  1. Food: Piggy or picky? Piggy
  2. Dog beds: Sleep on or unstuff? On.
  3. Travel: Car rides or car sick? Rides are cool, as long as I can be close to my human.
  4. Water: No way or splash all day? Don’t know yet.
  5. Seasons: A day in the sun or a day in the snow? Sun!

Update on Forrest

Update on Forrest

Adopted: August, 2015

Dog’s former name: Orion

What are the best things about your dog?
Forrest is the most loyal friend you can ask for. He’s goofy, playful, and full of energy. He loves being outside, hiking, and running circles around his doggy sister. But let’s be honest, he really loves the couch. He also won’t go to sleep unless he’s tucked in under the covers.

Tell us about your dogs favorite activities, sports or training:
Hiking, walks in the park, tug of war, and instigating play time with his sister Willow.

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments?
Just the typical day to day! He is a comforting constant in our lives.

How do people react to your “pit bull”?
Forrest can be reactive on a leash. We’ve worked very hard to make him more comfortable and less fearful. He really benefitted from canine coach’s dog to dog socialization class. I think there are still some folks that assume he’s “aggressive” when truly he’s fearful and just wants to protect himself and me. He has made great progress and most people absolutely adore him for his real personality.

Does your dog have any nicknames?
Booger, Bud, Fo-Rast

FAST FIVE with Forrest

  1. Food: Piggy or picky? Major pig
  2. Dog beds: Sleep on or unstuff? Sleep on
  3. Travel: Car rides or car sick? Loves the windows down car rides
  4. Water: No way or splash all day? Tries to eat the garden hose and water
  5. Seasons: A day in the sun or a day in the snow? Sunbather 100%

Update on Oslo

Update on Oslo

Adopted: June 17, 2019

Dog’s former name: Fonzie

What are the best things about your dog?
He is our little snuggle buddy… Oslo loves all dogs and all people. He is without a doubt, “The Entertainer.”

Tell us about your dogs favorite activities, sports or training:
Oslo loves going on long walks, especially around the Minneapolis Lakes. Also, this dog will play with anything – ropes, kongs, tennis balls, sticks, stuffed animals, you name it.

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments?
Oslo is a pup of many skills – he can shake each paw; whichever you ask for, you will get. Smart! He also knows roll-over and sit-up. Super-funny is that Oslo will back up a few inches at a time if he is sitting too close while we are eating. We just say, “Too Close,” and he will back up. LOL!
But his best accomplishment is the “Wait!” When we set any food or treat next to his paw and we say “wait,” we can walk away (even into another room) and Oslo won’t eat it until we say “go ahead!” Smart dog and good discipline.

How do people react to your “pit bull”?
There are still a couple people who are just afraid because Oslo is a pitbull, but 99% see he wagging tail and his big smile, and want to pet and visit him.

Does your dog have any nicknames?
Most frequently – “Buddy”, and sometimes (we are sorry to admit this) “Snuggle-Butt”

FAST FIVE with Oslo

  1. Food: Piggy or picky? Will eat almost anything.
  2. Dog beds: Sleep on or unstuff? Sleep on dog bed.
  3. Travel: Car rides or car sick? Car rides!
  4. Water: No way or splash all day? No way.
  5. Seasons: A day in the sun or a day in the snow? Both!

Update on Kiki

Update on Kiki

Adopted: July 2019

Dog’s former name: Kiki

What are the best things about your dog?
She is an absolute sweetheart! She loooooves giving kisses! And she has the sweetest puppy dog eyes that can get her out of ANY trouble!

Tell us about your dogs favorite activities, sports or training:
Kiki loves to run and play outside! She also loves wrestling with her big pittie sister Naomi.

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments?
Kiki has come a long way in the past year. She use to be so fearful and timid of all humans, but with a lot of socializing and training, Kiki has made amazing progress and even has made some human friends outside of her family! Which is a big accomplishment for her. 🙂 She also had to get a growth removed from her elbow and had a long 2 month recovery, but she was a champ the whole time! (Even fought off a nasty infection and wearing a cone for those whole 2 months!)

How do people react to your “pit bull”?
Once Kiki warms up to people, they absolutely melt for her “sweet eyes” and “puppy kisses”.

Does your dog have any nicknames?
“Porki”

FAST FIVE with Kiki

  1. Food: Piggy or picky? Piggy! Definitely a piggy!
  2. Dog beds: Sleep on or unstuff? Sleep on (when she’s not taking over the humans bed!)
  3. Travel: Car rides or car sick? Car rides!
  4. Water: No way or splash all day? Slowly becoming more confident around water!
  5. Seasons: A day in the sun or a day in the snow? Both! But she really loves fresh snow!
