VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Rescue is hard work. There are many, many hours of time involved every single day in the rescue, care, travel, networking and administrative support required to keep things running smoothly. What makes it even harder is that Save-a-Bull has no paid staff, no office space and no boarding facility – we are a 100% volunteer run organization. Volunteers graciously give their free time and their money, and they open their hearts and their homes to offer whatever support our dogs need to succeed.

We greatly appreciate the passion and sacrifice of each of our committed volunteers and we’d like to introduce you to just a few of the people who are making huge contributions to the success of our organization.

Meet Toni Fernandez

Q: What’s the most rewarding experience you’ve had as a volunteer so far?
I absolutely love knowing that all of our hard work and money we raise goes to helping our Save-a-Bull pups. I love seeing our dogs find there forever homes and seeing updates on how they are doing.

Q: How did you learn about Save-a-Bull and what made you decide to volunteer?
I did an on line search for rescues, and Save-a-Bull popped up. My dog was getting older, and I thought that instead if getting another dog, I could just foster. Then I foster failed.

Q: How do you volunteer your time specifically with Save-a-Bull?
My role with Save-a-Bull is as a foster. I love having the puppies because they are sweet and snuggly and I don’t have time to get attached because they are here such a short time. Lately, however I have been doing several weekend respites.

We “Heart” Our Fosters

Foster families. They are the center, the heart, of rescue. We can’t do anything without their caring, commitment and undying support. No dog can come into rescue if we don’t have a place to keep them, and our foster families open up their doors again and again to make sure we can keep saying “yes!’ to dogs who need us.
