Q: How do you volunteer your time specifically with Save-a-Bull?
I am a temp foster quickly turned regular foster. I also very much enjoy separating unsuspecting people from their money at events in exchange for merch and raffle tickets 🙂

Q: How long have you been with Save-a-Bull?
Less than a year. I started in the spring of 2017.

Q: How did you learn about Save-a-Bull and what made you decide to volunteer?
My previous resident dog was a former foster of (exec director) Lori and that’s how we met. After he passed I said that when the time came I was going to let her know and she could play matchmaker for me since she knows I like the quirky, kinda broken dogs; especially the grumpy old men! I was missing the presence of a dog before I was ready for a new forever dog (I’m still not ready) and temp fostering seemed to be a good plan so I reached out to Lori. I reach out to her for everything whether she likes it or not because really, this is all her fault and I have zero regrets 🙂

Q: What’s the most rewarding experience you’ve had as a volunteer so far?
Rewarding/heartbreaking would be watching my first foster, whom I not so secretly fell instantly in love with, drive off with his new family. I can’t wait to do it again and again and I will cry every time.

Q: Do you have any dogs of your own?
I do not currently have any forever dogs and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I kind of like being available to take in a dog who might prefer being the only dog.

Q: What do you do for work? For fun?
When I’m not working for a major grocery retailer I am helping people feel and therefore look their most beautiful. I’m known to my clients as the makeup lady who is obsessed with tacos and pit bulls. I do alterations and costuming, ride motorcycles, and absolutely love hanging out with my son and my other half. They are super supportive of my crazy dog rescue endeavors and are always willing to love on our 4-legged house guests.
