Q: How do you volunteer your time specifically with Save-a- Bull?
We chose Save-a-Bull because it works directly with bully breed dogs and they are so misunderstood. We wanted to help change people’s opinions about pit bulls and help them see they are great dogs. Ever since we started fostering, we have had changed minds, and continue to change minds, of people, and that is a huge accomplishment to us.
I, Cassie, have lived with pit bulls for about 22 years now, and I know they are amazing and gentle dogs, they just need a chance to show love.

Q: How long have you been with Save-a- Bull?
I can’t honestly remember if it was Feb 2012 or 2013, so we have been fostering for about 3-4 years.

Q: How did you learn about Save-a- Bull and what made you decide to volunteer?
I was just googling rescues to volunteer/foster with, and starting googling bully breeds and found Save-a-Bull. We didn’t know anyone in the rescue at the time but put in an application and shortly after had a home visit, and started fostering.

Q: What’s the most rewarding experience you’ve had as a volunteer so far?
The most rewarding experience, which is also the hardest, giving the dog to a new home. Knowing that they are happy and have a great life ahead of them, is truly rewarding. Also, being able to see the smiles and laughter of the new family when they meet and get their new dog, is an amazing feeling.

Q: Do you have any dogs of your own?
Yes, we have 3 dogs of our own:
Bella 6yrs- English Bulldog
Jax 4yrs – Shepherd mix
Axel 3yrs – pit bull (our foster fail with Save-a-Bull)

Q: What do you do for work? For fun?
Brad is a property maintenance supervisor and for fun he likes to golf, bowl, and ice fish, all depending on weather. Cassie is an optician and for fun I like to shop, spend time with friends, participate in races, and bowl. We both also like to spend time as a family and with dogs.
