Dog’s former name Rogers

What are the best things about your dog?
He loves to cuddle! Frankie is such a great cuddler and loves to give lots and lots of kisses.

Tell us about your dog’s favorite activities, sports or training:
Frankie loves to play fetch, go on walks, and chase his big “sister” (8 yr old lab) in the back yard.

Give us some examples of how your dog likes to spend his/her time:
Frankie is either full go or full stop. He can play and have lots of fun but he can also be lazy and lounge in the sunshine.

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments to tell us about?
Frankie just recently met his first muskrat. It was stuck in our fence and he was VERY curious…too curious. Nine stitches and a cone for 12 days, but if he saw one again he would go for round two.

How do people react to your “pit bull?”
Most people love Frankie, regardless of his pit bull status. They know him as a lover and a happy-go-lucky guy that loves to play.

What other stories do you want to share?
Frankie is a Momma’s boy! Even though he plays well with Dad, when Mom is around he is all about her!

What are the best things about your dog?
He’s a very happy, loving boy. He loves his human kids and is very gentle with them. He loves his fur sisters too.

Everyone loves Judge, and he is the star wherever he goes. He’s handsome and he knows it and he loves the attention.

Update on Griffey

Update on Griffey

Adopted August 26th, 2016

Dog’s former name Hopper

What are the best things about your dog?
He is the best dog in the whole world! He absolutely loves his family and would do anything for us. He LOVES to cuddle and sleeps in the middle of us every night. He has the cutest mannerisms, he’s a fast learner, and is very treat motivated. We don’t just love him, we WORSHIP him!

Tell us about your dog’s favorite activities, sports or training:
He absolutely loves to play fetch, “monkey in the middle” (he’s our little monkey and we toss the ball back and forth – he goes bananas cuz he loves it so much) and also tug of war with pretty much any toy he can find. He also loves to do training activities with his Dad.

Give us some examples of how your dog likes to spend his/her time:
He loves doing just about anything as long as his humans are in tow. We love going to off leash dog parks and it’s hilarious to watch him because he doesn’t like to venture too far away from his family- he’s always looking back to make sure we’re still in his line of sight. He also LOVES going to work with his mom on occasion. At night, he loves to cuddle up on our laps for a good episode of pitbulls and parolees before bed.

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments to tell us about?
We are getting him to a healthy state- finally got rid of all of the parasites and he no longer has tummy issues! Right now we are working on figuring out if he has allergies as he has had some issues with his eyes but he has been a trooper throughout the whole process! He is also very easy to train and knows many commands! “Left” “right” “front” and “back up”, “come”, “heel”, “sit”, “down”, “shake”, currently working on dropping the ball and trying to get him to stop jumping on people when he is overly excited. Doing all this at only 8-9 months old, we could not be prouder! He gets about 1000 kisses per day and loves being the center of attention (which he always is).

How do people react to your “pit bull?”
A lot of negativity and many people are scared just looking at him. There were many people close to us who tried to advise us against the breed- but we knew once we met Griffey that he would be able to change their minds.. and he has. Everyone who gives him a chance, absolutely adores him.

Does your dog have any nicknames?
Griff, Pumpkin Pie, or Poopy Butt

FAST FIVE with Griffey

1. Food: Piggy or picky? So so so piggy! He will eat anything.

2. Dog beds: Sleep on or unstuff? Dog bed? Heck no he’s going straight to the human bed.

3. Travel: Car rides or car sick? Loves car rides and insists on them

4. Water: No way or splash all day? In between- he will get his feet wet and may venture a little further if other dogs are swimming.

5. Seasons: A day in the sun or a day in the snow? Day in the sun- he gets cold fairly quickly

Update on Bo

Update on Bo

Adopted September 2016

Dog’s former name Chance

What are the best things about your dog?
He is quite funny, very loving, and wants to be everyone’s friend!

Tell us about your dog’s favorite activities, sports or training:
Bo’s favorite activities are playing with his furry sister, eating, and going on car rides. He also loves to go to work with dad (his favorite person).

Give us some examples of how your dog likes to spend his/her time:
My dad takes down barns and he will take me with him to the job site! I love to spend the day playing with the dogs I meet there and their owners. I treat every outing with my humans like an adoption event. Once, my mom took me on a long car ride. When she stopped to get gas and take me potty, I tried to get in the car with the man getting gas across from us. I just wanted to be friends! Luckily, the man was very nice and just laughed!

I also love to snuggle and I think that I’m a lap dog!

How do people react to your “pit bull?”
I am pretty large and I have piercing green eyes. Sometimes people are afraid of me but I make sure that everyone likes me. I haven’t met a person that doesn’t like me yet!

I only have 3 legs because someone shot me when I was a puppy, so sometimes when I go to the pet store people ask what happened. One lady bought me a toy! I try not to dwell on that though.

What other stories do you want to share?
The first night I met my human brothers and sisters, I jumped on the table and licked the pizza! My human brothers and sisters were a little upset! I have been working on my manners and I don’t do that anymore though.

I know when it’s close to my bedtime because my mom and dad get into bed and let me snuggle with them while they watch TV. I will lay very still and only move my eyes, hoping I can trick them into thinking that I am asleep. That way I can sleep with them! It hasn’t worked yet. Then, when they put me in my kennel, I tell them I don’t like it for about 10 minutes (series of loud groans) until my dad tells me to go to bed.

I also really love coffee! Once, when my dad and his employee were working on a barn I jumped through the window of his employee’s car and drank all his coffee! I don’t let only 3 legs slow me down, my family says they can’t imagine what a terror I would be if I had all 4 legs!

Does your dog have any nicknames?
Bo-Bo, Boseph, Bobasaur

FAST FIVE with Bo

1. Food: Piggy or picky? Piggy

2. Dog beds: Sleep on or unstuff? Sleep and unstuff

3. Travel: Car rides or car sick? Car rides

4. Water: No way or splash all day? I was adopted in September, I really like to sleep on the dock in the sun but when my mom sees me thinking about jumping in she makes me leave because she is afraid she will have to jump in after me and the water is too cold!

5. Seasons: A day in the sun or a day in the snow? Both! I love to eat the snow and play in it! I also love to sleep in the sun.

Update on Dublin

Update on Dublin

Adopted July 2016

Dog’s former name Doug

What are the best things about your dog?
The best thing about Dublin?  He is a typical pit bull.  A people lover with a rapidly wagging tail and a special knack for snuggling.

Tell us about your dog’s favorite activities, sports or training:
Strolls through the neighborhood are the best! If Dublin decides that a walk has been too short, he back pedals in the driveway and refuses to come back in the yard!  …but he is otherwise blissfully lazy!

Give us some examples of how your dog likes to spend his/her time:
Dubs is a classic velcro dog.  He will help clean the basement, help with yard work, copilot on long road trips…as long as he can be with his people!

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments to tell us about?
Dublin claims that his extraordinary talent is being able to get to the top of the fridge to snack on any food items that may be stored up there… (ahem, food is no longer stored there…). He is also a master drooler.

How do people react to your “pit bull?”
Dublin loves humans and therefore humans love him back!

What other stories do you want to share?
Having Dublin as the second dog addition to the house has really helped our first furry friend with her anxiety issues.

Does your dog have any nicknames?
Dubs

FAST FIVE with Dublin

1. Food: Piggy or picky? Piggy

2. Dog beds: Sleep on or unstuff? Sleep on

3. Travel: Car rides or car sick? First one in the car

4. Water: No way or splash all day? No thanks

5. Seasons: A day in the sun or a day in the snow? Wherever the humans are!

Update on Remi

Update on Remi

Adopted May 2016

Dog’s former name Remi

What are the best things about your dog?
Remi is the sweetest pup. She is a people person, sticking as close as she can to whomever is home at the time. She thinks that anyone that she meets is instantly in love with her and will shower them with affection.

Tell us about your dog’s favorite activities, sports or training:
Remi loves to play tug a war with her friend Maddie. This usually involves destroying a sock or two but she thinks it’s the best game ever!

Give us some examples of how your dog likes to spend his/her time:
Remi is happy as long as she as close to possible to a human. That means sitting close enough to touch or sitting right on top of an human.

Remi is also a talker! She tells us when she is hungry, when she needs to go out, when she is ready to bed, etc. Usually she has something specific to communicate but sometimes she just is chatty.

Do you have any extraordinary adventures or accomplishments to tell us about?
Shortly after we got Remi, she got away from our Nanny and kids. She was picked up by a local police officer. My son was very concerned about her going to “jail”. However, the policeman explained that he just wanted to make sure that she got home safe. Apparently, in the hour that she was at the station, she was the model inmate and the officers fell in love with her.

How do people react to your “pit bull?”
Last fall, we took Remi to the local festival where many people had their dogs. Remi got a lot of attention for her shiny coat and her calm demeanor. Many people asked what breed she is and we proudly answer pit bull. When we moved to Chanhassen 10 years ago, we had a AmStaff. Boy did she turn heads in our neighborhood where the lab, golden and doodles reign supreme. We’ve since moved into Excelsior. There are 4 other pit mixes within our block! It’s great to see acceptance of Pitties growing.

What other stories do you want to share?
We believe that Remi was meant to be our dog. In fact, we had gone to meet another pup at a rescue event and were approved to adopt her. However, before we left, my son found Remi inside. He sat down on the floor with her, hugged and talked to her. We ended up canceling our agreement on the other pup because my son could not stop talking about Remi. For several reasons, we needed to wait a few weeks before we could adopt her but we checked the website daily to see if she was still available. Jessica, Remi’s foster said that she remembered my son was hoping that we would come back for her. I think that watching the video of her “talking” to Jessica really sealed the deal for my husband.

Does your dog have any nicknames?
Remster

FAST FIVE with Remi

1. Food: Piggy or picky? Piggy – loves to eat paper

2. Dog beds: Sleep on or unstuff? Sleep # 30

3. Travel: Car rides or car sick? Loves the car but wants to sit on console between front seats

4. Water: No way or splash all day? No way

5. Seasons: A day in the sun or a day in the snow? Sunshine please
